TX has just under 10 million early votes cast. What's crazy about that number(to me at least) is that 90% of those are actual in-person early voting. Only 973k are absentee/mail-in.
quote:

About 735,000 more people voted early this year in Texas than voted in the entire 2016 presidential election, including on Election Day.

Can there really be that many more people who are going to flood the polls tomorrow for either side, or will we see truly historic turnout in that state

This is a point that I think people need to keep in mind. A lot of conservatives are thinking that early numbers in a lot of key states look good for them right now because they are factoring in normal turnout on election day. I see it as being far more likely that election day turnout is waaaayy down because all those people voted early. That being said, I think the liberals think that are looking good because that think 20% of republicans are going to be voting for Biden, and that is just laughable. By the end of the whole think, I predict much more Dems cross the isle to vote Trump than they other way around.

Most of the voting is done in Texas. The turnout for this election is going to be more than 2016, but not astronomically. People are just getting it done early now.

Early voting in Texas about the easiest thing to do, people are catching on.

Agreed. I can't think of anyone I know, including myself, that hasn't already voted.

I live in Texas now (Fort Worth area) and i will vote tomorrow with my daughter. She is driving in from Oklahoma just to vote and then driving back to campus. We are gonna tailgate this bitch in the morning, pull the lever for Trump, and eat gumbo and watch the Red Wave come in.

I think the analysis is a bid deeper than that. The analysis I've heard is how many voters are remaining (not sure exactly how this is estimated). Are you suggesting that the estimate of voters remaining is off?

I stupidly thought more people would early vote so I held off and will be going tomorrow. Hopefully nobody is there early in the AM. It's always a nightmare after work.

Texas had 9M votes in 2016. About 1.8M people have registered since then. Texas has 9.7M early votes so far. An estimated 11-12M will vote. Texas having a 33% increase in voters over a 4 year period is amazing. Going from a 55% turnout state to a 65-70% turnout is crazy.

In 2016, 18-29yo made up 6% of the early vote. In 2020, they are 13% of that vote. The remaining question is how many show up on Election Day.

Me & the little lady (pic below) will be voting as we always do: on Election Day. Usually takes about 20 minutes...never had been a line, 5 minutes filling out the ballot (which is 4 minutes longer than usual since Texas eliminated straight-ticket voting), 15 minutes visiting with the poll workers since everyone knows everyone in this town.

I know multiple people like me who refuse to vote on any day but election day. When you vote has become a political statement this year. Poll after poll has shown Biden supporters planned on voting early while Trump supporters will vote on Election Day.

Followed a live stream from our church for our day of prayer today. In a room that probably had around 200 people in it, only TWO people had yet to vote.

I have some friends here in Houston that only vote on election day...feel that their vote in more safe that way...just know there are people that feel that way.

I have waited until election day just so I could add to the melt factor.

I think you see the increase because people who didn’t typically vote in the past because their vote felt meaningless in their state, want to be heard this year. The Texas number is going to be HUGE win for the Rs. Same that’s happened in GA lately...every Dem goes and votes and some Repubs have taken the state for granted. Not this year. MAGA
