TX Gov Abbott had originally sent an EO to say all travelers to TX from NOLA had to be in a mandatory 14 day quarantine. He has expanded that to all travelers, including by road. DPS will be manning major highways into TX. Details are in link.

Are they blocking Louisiana plates from coming into Texas?

Or do they just have to quarantine for 14 days? Because there’s no way to actually enforce that

Good luck trying to quarantine hospital employees that work in Shreveport but live in Texas.

They do cite a fine of $1000 or 180 days for violation of the "guidelines". I can't imagine this being anywhere near legal/Constitutional. But these states have people where they want them for a endeavor such as this.....because good luck getting into court to challenge it anytime soon.

Courts are closed to regular business but a TRO to challenge something like this could easily get heard.

There supposed to be getting passenger and destination info and following up to see if the quarantines are being abided by.

I just figure these are unenforceable, I mean they are threatening with a fine. If they want to quarantine people that are positive they probably could, there really is no such thing as a self-quarantine... meaning they need to pay for it.

I'm from Louisiana, I come to Texas, exactly where I am suppose to self-quarantine too?

I work in retail business. I go from Shreveport to Texas to check prices and stock shelves. I do have a letter from my company too. I wonder if I will get fined.

Simple enough Louisiana should implement a ban on all rail & air travel to Texas both commercial & passenger. I'm sure that will contain the spread.

Well I'm on my way to Texas border right now, if they are already in place I guess I'll see if my letter from work is worth the paper it's printed on.

That might could make it into court on an emergency basis given the subject matter, but that same subject matter would likely have a long road to hoe upwards through the federal court system. This is bizarro world in the legal realm. Surely there will be challenges to these executive orders. Pretty damn interesting.
