I would hold my nose and vote for him just like I had to with McCain and Romney.
Just not in a primary.

And if he becomes the nominee against Biden or Harris, still no?
...and I don’t think he’s going to run anyway, at least not in ‘24.

If the Republican nominee is not Cruz, DeSantis, or Trump, I will be voting third party in the GE for the first time since 1988, and I don't think I will be alone.

If they don't back DeSantis, assuming no screw ups, a lot of people are done with the party. This is a guy who can actually lead.
Posted on 4/30/21 at 2:55 pm to cajunangelle
Well, so much for Tim Scott being the future of the Republican Party.

The scenario you present is not representative of the current state of affairs. We live in a 2-D memeland. Virtually everyone but Trump sucks. You have this cajunangelle poster continuously teetering on the edge of hating on DeSantis, waiting with baited breath for one quick slipup or one quick Trump barb to turn on him. It's bizarre. The same shite with Pence, who was a great VP for Trump. Jeff Sessions, etc.
The dems had their own infighting but they largely coalesced around a false moderate narrative disguising a radical progressive agenda, are sticking together, and ramming through their bullshite. AOC and her fellow idiots do their typical antics to push the Overton window left, but have noticeably shut their mouths and fallen in line on stuf like kids in cages.
The truth of the matter is that McConnell has been an asset and one of the most important conservative politicians of the past couple of decades. He may be old or whatever but that would be a funny critique from Trump cultists, wouldn't it?
And it's not like there's been a "healthy exchange of ideas" going the other direction. I can shitpost with the best of them, but any critique of Trump on here is met by childish nonsense by rednecks and dorky college kids.
I don't care about it on a personal level, it's just worrisome. Need to win to get conservative ideas advanced and to stop the onslaught happening at breakneck speed. Stop being whiny bitches and go for the 80/20.

Your view point is of a GOPe neocon. But opinions are like noses, everyone has one. Bringing me into your opinion with this statement, is a flat out lie. I have said that I don't think Trump should run...
But that doesn't matter really.

The way that you put Turtle, Jeff Sessions up on a politician pedestal is far worse then Trump worship. As Sessions nor Turtle have done anything deserving of such accolades.
Sessions was a weak feckless loser in on the coup. Turtle stopped Garland from SCOTUS. He did his job BFD his wife is a CCP honeypot.
Only Polly would think Pence was a great VP.
Maybe you ought to check your GOPe worship meter before posting that people worship Trump. Pot meet kettle and all, ya know...

I don't worship anything about the GOPe. DeSantis is my favorite contender by far, and you seem to dislike him. In no way, shape or form is he part of the establishment. The most important item to me at this juncture are gun rights and judges. McConnell was a master of managing the judiciary and has been consistently excellent on gun rights. Mostly the same for Trump on the former, not so much on the latter.

Mitch sucks minors like so many in DC. Then shoots em on video. That’s why they have these jobs. They’re compromised and controlled
Imprison him now please

Desantis is the future not Scott.
I mostly agree with this but there is a reason republicans have been promoting Scott for years, including Trump who repeatedly called out Scott for accolades at his state of the union and gave Scott complete credit for the opportunity zone program.
A desantis/Scott ticket is plainly the best ticket the GOP could put forth in 2024. Desantis will keep the Trump wing and largely bring back into the fold the suburban GOP vote that will by then be turned off of Biden.

Old RINOs like the Turtle and Liz will be the death of the R party if they continue to alienate the huge MAGA army and can’t come to the realization that they’re the party’s future.

Newsflash dumbass!
Mitch McConnell is a globalist POS.
A REAL CONSERVATIVE is not a globalist.

Tim Scott is worthless.
This Trump supporter won't vote for Desantis if Scott, Haley or Noem is the VP.
I will leave the race blank.

Trump Approval Rating among Republicans = 90+%
Mitch.................................. =
Scott's approval is good/acceptable as a Senator, but will take a dive as Leader of the Party. Trump owns that. To the degree Scott abandons Trump...Scott's numbers crash.

Trump just got clobbered by a mumbly old man, and you want to blame McConnell.

That’s a gamble with someone who’s not a career swamp politician. The next person in line will not be nearly as trustful, respectfully.

Is he pro-ammesty? As long as he's anti illegal immigration (I'll add that), pro-gun, and anti-leftist judge, I'm 80%, there with him.

This is what I'm waiting on. The GOP refuses to acknowledge MAGA and continues to attempt to diminish Trump. If that's their goal, then we can't afford to even consider anyone they put forth.
