Loyola was a religious based school I thought?

Most colleges founded by churches have either become post-Christian, or are moving in that direction as fast as they can.

Once upon a time. However it's infested by northern liberal Jesuits who worship Leftism instead of the guy they're named after

That's what you get when a Jesuit university starts focusing on "diversity" and allowing every whacko leftist atheist from all over the country to go there.

Who in their right mind would pay the tuition to attend Loyola-New Orleans in this day and age?

I hope the University Administration overrules the Student organization that made this decision.

Most in this thread seem to think that the University admin made this call. The article says it was the Student government that made the decision.

College kids are Woke AF these days.

"A student government body at Loyola University New Orleans has denied a newly-formed chapter of Turning Point USA the ability to become an official student organization on campus."

Do many of us mostly react and post to thread titles without so much as reading the first line of the cited news article?

Catholics are fundamentally not Christian either. They are a cult.

Assuming this is for the law school, it's both - *ahem* Tulane (sometimes referred to as [expletive deleted]) is "Pay your fees and get your Bs".

Loyola is Crayola in some circles.

LSU is "We're broke, so we try harder."

SU is for another thread where there will be many, many bans.

Jesuits also defied the Vatican when it came to slavery. Vatican opposed it, Jesuits bought and sold

To be fair, the Vatican was hardly consistent and staunch abolitionist during the 1900s. The Vatican put out papal brief in 1839 (a year after the 1838 Jesuit slave trade) that left lots of leeway for slavery as long as you could claim it was "just" while never saying what "just" slavery was. Also in 1866, Pope Pius IX said that slavery was not contrary to divine law as long as they met certain conditions.
