Yeah Sid, because the bad guys are obeying the CC laws, right?
CC laws only hurt law abiding citizens.
This is a wild arguement.
Law abiding citizens would be getting CC licenses. As required by law.

They’re not turncoats. There’s always been a class of urban police politicians that don’t want anyone but their men to have guns. They’re acting exactly as I’d expect. Like any other beast, a weasel must be true to its nature.

Do these Sheriffs actually expect to be rolling up to a large number of Mexican Standoffs? I don’t think that is how it will EVER play out.

Which they do, and pay the fee. Then, pay another fee to renew again and again.
Criminals are carrying without a license, so the law that requires one only affects law abiding citizens.

And the criminals who are arrested for concealed weapons…
Don’t get me wrong, if it’s the only thing you’re being arrested for I agree It’s BS. But pretending that this doesn’t effect criminals when they can be arrested or have additional charges for it isn’t true.

Turncoat LA Law Enforcement Officials Support JBE’s Veto of Constitutional Carry
Did you expect anything less from a group of people who want total authority and control over you?

Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said. "It's hard enough for us to do our jobs... Can you imagine going into a shooting situation, and you walk in a room and everybody's holding a gun? You're not going to know who the bad guy—who the good guys are."
I like you Sid...but this is a bullshite argument.
In fact, let's follow this to it's logical conclusion:
the only time I could imagine police arriving somewhere, and running into a group of armed folks, with a "friend or foe" dilemma:
somebody attempts a mass shooting, but is met with armed resistance which delays the shooter's intent until police arrive.
If everyone is unarmed, then, yes, when the police arrive, they don't find a bunch of armed guys and have to worry about who's the bad guy and who's not.
They will find a bunch of victims, people who got shot before the cops came.

Hopefully people are getting messages to their elected officials in the legislature on how they feel about this.
It's hilarious to see that people still actually think that "letting their representatives know how they feel" is going to change a goddamn thing

This is all about fees.

Doesn't surprise me about the sheriffs. JBE is a puppet of the Louisiana Sheriffs' Association; they helped twice to elect him.

Mine responded in about 10 minutes affirming their support of an override.
I wouldn't be surprised at either of mine being against a veto session and against overturning the vetos. I've emailed both. One can be a RINO at times and the other is an independent that caucases with dems. I have more respect for the independent because at least he doesn't blow smoke up my arse and just tells me he is opposed to what I would like.

What else can you do? I let them know how I feel and when it comes time for reelection I'll do what I can to keep them from getting reelected. Look, I'm at a point where I despise almost all elected officials.
I feel its more impactful then going on "[insert city] Rants and Raves" on facebook and writing a dear facebook post. But I am probably wrong on that point also.

The law enforcement community is one of the usual suspects that keeps Louisiana shitty. They’re a big player in Louisiana’s culture of corruption.
After all, the sheriffs association endorsed JBE twice because he would protect their little fiefdoms and he has so far.
Override that veto and ram it down the throats of those Boss Hogg wannabes.
frick them.

What are you in for?
“Well, I robbed a store and murdered the clerk, but where the judge really fricked me is when I tucked my gat back in my drawers. That CC w/o a permit is why they sent me to Angola.”

SHERIFF SEAL SUPPORTS CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY
As the Sheriff of Washington Parish, I stand in support of Constitutional Carry which will enable Louisiana citizens to carry a firearm without having to obtain a permit. This is a Second Amendment issue which guarantees specific rights for self-protection.
