This is well played by Erdogan! He gives leaders of NATO a pistol as a gift and the NATO leaders react as if it's a live snake.
They wanted nothing to do with it. They are scared of a pistol, yet are begging for sophisticated weapons for Ukraine. Lol

quote:

Personally, I believe Turkish President Recep Erdogan knew exactly what would happen when he gave all the NATO leaders a “Magnum” .357 handgun at the 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkey. What happened next is exactly the reason he did it.

quote:

President Trump brings Erdogan’s gift back to the White House, with a casual ‘cool gun’ nonchalant approach. Meanwhile, back in Europe, the apoplectic recipients, administrators’, various office bureaucracies and support staff that surround each NATO politician are physically and mentally stuck, not knowing what to do.

Was it a Turkish-manufactured gun? I'd be curious to check out some reviews. But I don't really care for .357. Give me .40 or the venerable old .45 ACP.

I have a .357. I do worry about having guns in the house with my kids, but we keep them in their proper place. I can understand being intimidated by guns.

Yes, I agree man and it is great advice. I always walk away from any hint of conflict and as long as they let me do that then everything is fine.

Would have been funnier if Erdogan had given the European leaders only 1 bullet instead of 6

Trump should have just pulled a Johnny ringo in front of them

NATO leaders survive brush with death in near fatal encounter with wmds. Officials could not be reached for comment citing the trauma and lengthy recovery times associated with near death experiences. We do not yet know the full extent of the ptsd nightmare these brave souls will have to endure into the future but one thing is for certain, we cannot allow such atrocities to continue to exist in the modern world.

The Gümüsay .357 Magnum is a rare, vintage six-shot revolver produced by the Turkish state manufacturer MKE (Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation) in the 1990s. Recently brought into the global spotlight, it was gifted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to NATO leaders at the July 2026 Ankara summit to showcase Turkey's defense industry history.

Historical Significance and Production Identified as Turkey's first domestically produced modern revolver, the Gümüsay was developed in the early 1990s through a collaboration between MKE and Küssan A.S.. While MKE manufactured the high-strength alloy steel barrel and cylinder to withstand .357 Magnum pressures, Küssan assembled the frame and lockwork. The weapon is now considered a collector's rarity because Turkey's modern handgun sector has shifted almost entirely toward semi-automatic pistols.

The 2026 Diplomatic Gift At the conclusion of the NATO summit, each leader received a personalized Gümüsay engraved with their name, housed in a wooden display box featuring the Turkish flag and NATO logo. The gifts included live ammunition (typically six rounds, though British Prime Minister Keir Starmer received 500 rounds), which triggered complex legal and security responses upon the leaders' return home:

Belgium and Poland surrendered their revolvers to airport police and customs for secure storage.
The Netherlands and Sweden kept the weapons at their Ankara embassies to undergo deactivation or import processing.
Canada, Greece, and the European Commission announced plans to deactivate the firearms and donate them to military museums.
**NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte declined to accept the gift entirely.

I would love to have a handgun at the house, but our house is often crawling with grandkids, and i just think the risk isn’t worth it.
