President Trump promised in the 2016 campaign to eliminate the federal debt over a two-term presidency. That pledge won't come to fruition, and, in fact, he will leave office having added massively to the debt.
“His tenure has been marked by a total disregard for any concern about mounting debt,” said Jim Capretta, a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a right-leaning think tank in Washington, D.C.
When Trump was inaugurated on Jan. 20, 2017, the total national debt was nearly $20 trillion, according to the Treasury Department. It has increased over roughly 30% since, nearly $8 trillion, to $27 trillion, as of Monday.
For comparison, President Barack Obama added roughly $9 trillion to the national debt during his eight years in office, according to the Treasury Department.

The scary part is Biden will add $16 trillion in his term.

Do tell us how he should have prevented it.

I'm sure covid had nothing to do with this.

Easy to grow the economy when you just print new money.

The debt exploded under Obama (really before but it really took off then) and there really was no chance of stopping it. It is only going to get worse

It was as if he and the democrats were in a race to throw away money.
Honest democrats should admit they loved his spending.

He would've been crucified by the left if he demanded a balanced budget.

Yeah, that's what happens when your foreign enemies unleash a biological weapon on your country, and your domestic enemies use it to their advantage.

He lowered everyone’s taxes, had the lowest amount of people on welfare, gas was less than $2 a gallon, cost of living affordable, jobs before Covid were plentiful, got ride of the $695 yearly penalty for not affording health insurance. I never heard anyone complain they couldn’t afford gas or couldn’t find a job under President Trump. God bless President Trump!

So COVID isn't addressed by this clown?

Cut military spending for one thing. Hold nightly speeches to the nation on this debt problem. Come up with ways to make gov't more efficient.
