What does this have to do with citizenship?
Workmanship is alive and well in our citizenry and the adaptability to perform these jobs is strong in the absence of imported slave-labor.

I find it fascinating that no matter how hard democrats try to convince people they aren’t who they are, they can never change their spots. For nearly 250 years they’ve been invested in cheap labor. They’ve moved the blacks out of the fields and onto a voting plantation, and now they are fully invested in the cheap labor of the brown skinned man.
One other point. Southern democrats used the 3/5 compromise to gain political by counting 3/5 of the slave population in the census to gain house seats. Today they fight tooth and nail to count the illegal population in the census for the exact same reason.

My roof is full replacement value so they could hire recent grad civil engineers to do the roof and it wouldn't cost me anything - past the deductible.

The free market argument doesn’t hold water because illegals are used to avoid US minimum wage and labor laws. Illegals cannot complain about unsafe work conditions or pay because they’re illegal. In essence, the minimum wage laws and other labor laws are anti free market. You cannot hire a citizen for below minimum wage and citizens can sue if work conditions are unsafe or not up to code. For a true free market argument to exist in favor of illegal immigration, first you must have a true free market labor environment for citizens where citizens could offer to work for less or work in an unsafe environment to get a job over the illegal immigrant.
We haven’t had a true free market labor environment since the robber baron days of the 2nd industrial revolution
