The President of the United States need congressional approval to build a ballroom next to the White House, but does not need congressional approval to launch a war against Iran.

Why do they care if donations are paying for it? Are donations not paying for it?
Private donors might cover some of it but it’s gone well over budget and even if private donors covered all of it, that comes with other issues. Patronage comes with strings attached. No one is going to “donate” out of the goodness of their heart afterall. That’d be pretty stupid.

Don't think the money is the issue. Trump needs approval to build the new building. Moron was trying to claim it was a preservation of the east wing.
completely wring

The country would be so improved without people like you in it.

I don't see what the big deal is using private donations for these pet projects. It's would be out of Trump's character to reward these private donors/corporations with tax breaks or killing regulations via EO that would help these private companies, etc

The GOP could solve all of this by adding it to the reconciliation bill.

I bet the libs think Trump has to pay for full restoration to make it look exactly like it was before he touched it.

$400MM will buy a lot of tranny surgeries and puberty blockers for adolescents! Won’t someone think of the trans kids!

Trump Adiminstration adding to his 75% loss rate in court. We'll just call it 76% loss rate now.

Consitutionally that is the right answer. We can’t pretend like a third of the government doesn’t exist just because it’s incompetent

Is intentional incompetence not a form of non existence?

What exactly is the left hoping to accomplish? The East Wing section was already demolished and construction is underway.
What outcome are you looking for? Demolishing the ballroom construction and then rebuilding the East Wing exactly as it was before?
You're still fighting a battle that was lost months ago.

Well that is complete BS. The ball room IS covered and so far is coming in under budget.

Dude do you think campaign contributions to every single person in office is not a patronage? I mean wtf? At least we are getting a ball room and a military complex deep below it to protect the people at the WH instead of the relentless amount of commercials and fricking billboards on every road in the country.
