The only funny part is seeing so many alleged Catholics, who vote for Dems and support abortion, suddenly find their religion again, at least until the next thing they’re told to be mad about.

Amen. Leftist quasi-Catholics are the worst.

Anyone who has actually read the Gospel and thinks Jesus would be a Republican today is only fooling themselves. He constantly shits on rich people and money. He quite plainly says rich people can't get into heaven and that the government should be given whatever it asks for in taxes. Also advises to literally let your enemy attack you again before you defend yourself.

He also ran around with the downtrodden and despised of his society. Dude would absolutely be hanging out with transgenders and immigrants if he were around today and would tell most of the GOP they're going to hell if they don't wake up. They of course would call him a woke Marxist.

This was an unforced blunder on Trumps part. I’ve seen a ton of conservative friends on fb upset over this

It’s peak narcissism and blasphemous

Ahhh yes...the gospel reader who doesn't even understand the gospel he is trying to use against people. Classic liberal move

Jesus didn’t say rich people can’t go to heaven. He warned against loving money more than God. That’s not the same thing.

FYI, Jesus would not fit into any modern political party. His teachings would challenge both sides

By 2028 he will be totally toxic, but anyone who runs in the GOP that dares to question him will struggle to win a primary without it getting very dirty.

A winning strategy is to embrace Trumps America first policy but be far more statesmanlike in mannerisms

Tell me you don't understand Jesus' message without saying, "I don't understand Jesus' message."

Oh, so you’re a fundamentalist. Out of curiosity, have you informed Neil deGrasse Tyson that the earth is only 6,000 years old. He’s out there spewing all this 4.5 billion year bullshite.

That's an extremely likely hypothesis.

What a stupid post. First off you are severely lacking context and nuance in your claims on what Jesus said. 2nd he would likely not be a part of either party because both have policies that promote sin. Man is flawed thus his institutions are flawed so your argument is pointless to start with.

Nah, just someone who reads what Jesus said and doesn't perform high-level mental gymnastics with obscure metaphors so that I can continue to be hateful and greedy.

Edit: It's extremely telling that no one had an issue with a poster saying God and Jesus would "hate" leftists. Because that's very biblical.

Jesus never said a rich person cannot get into heaven. He used a metaphor to highlight that wealth can corrupt and lead a person astray from God. You can absolutely be a wealthy person of faith and use the wealth for Gods purposes

Uhm, no he didn't. He said, "it is easier for a camel to get through the eye of the needle, than it is for a rich man to get in the kingdom of God". And before you spaz out thinking he was talking about the head of a sewing needle, he wasn't. He was talking about a narrow gate around the city of Jerusalem that was called the eye of the needle.

quote:

that the government should be given whatever it asks for in taxes

Again, no he didn't. He said, "render unto Caesar what is Caesar's and render unto God what is God's".

quote:

He also ran around with the downtrodden and despised of his society

This part is true but not for the reasons you're thinking. He did hang out with the tax collectors and prostitutes, but it was because he wanted them to turn from their evil ways. He wasn't sitting around gay guys going, "hey, you like d1ck? Awesome! High five!"

He didn't say "Use your wealth (but not all) for my purposes," he said to give all your wealth away to the poor and follow him. He literally said that. Pretty easy to understand. Rich Americans who proclaim to be Christian who retain their wealth are not following Christ's teachings, because they clearly love their money more than him.

I'm out, I grew up Presbyterian so I know all the excuses y'all will give and need to get back to work. Just funny to throw some cold water on the fake bullshite from time to time.
