Yep. Just not the way you think.

Trump IS a lib.
A classic tax and spend liberal.
If you want to say he's not woke, o.k., that's fine.
But he takes probably more liberal policy actions than conservative ones.

I can't see how, given that you think Trump and liberalism are mutually exclusive.

Sometimes I feel like we're watching a guy start to believe his own hype before our very eyes. And THIS particular guy believing his own hype is very dangerous.
There's been a weird fetish of some to make Trump seem like some anointed by God savior. All the old boomer Facebook type pictures of Jesus walking with/beside him type of thing have been going on for years.
Then you add in his "spiritual advisor" Paula White saying stuff like:
quote:
I do believe that President Trump was God’s answer to so much prayer… and he was and is appointed [by God] to lead America
quote:
To say no to President Trump would be saying no to God.
quote:
The Democrats and the mainstream media shouldn’t be so quick to mock… suggesting that President Trump was chosen by God to lead this country.
I'm sure he does feel like he is some savior.
We are so screwed. By 2028 he will be totally toxic, but anyone who runs in the GOP that dares to question him will struggle to win a primary without it getting very dirty. If the Dems control the WH and Congress by 2028 the pendulum is going to swing so far left we may never actually recover.

This is pure deflection, but i hope it makes you feel better somehow

Oh for frick’s sake, it’s allegorical, and hyperbolic. JFC, people. Try putting a modicum of thought into things.

I'm becoming convinced many just want to be entertained, they don't care about merit. Kinda like when you go to a circus, do you don't care if the clowns actually accomplish anything of value during the performance.
Interesting you brought up the circus. That’s pretty much how Trump views Americans and humanity overall. He is admittedly a big admirer of PT Barnum.

That's what I am concerned about as well.

I’m Catholic, and I didn’t like the photo.
That being said, I’m not going to melt down over the photo, and it doesn’t change my support for Trump. We all know he has narcissistic tendencies. That’s part of what makes him successful. I just wish he had used a little more discretion in this case.
It’ll blow over, and the media will be melting down about something else next week.
The only funny part is seeing so many alleged Catholics, who vote for Dems and support abortion, suddenly find their religion again, at least until the next thing they’re told to be mad about.
You can't claim to be a Catholic and support any form of abortion, which I always found troubling about Biden claiming to be a Catholic. Trump gave us the SC that sent abortion to the states.
With regards to Trump's spat with the pope, there have been four popes in my lifetime, and all of them since John Paul II have been pretty openly socialist, so I don’t put much stock in the pope anymore. I don’t really care if Trump and the Pope fist-fight on the front lawn.

I’m not deflecting. I accept that Trump did something very stupid and blasphemous by posting this AI slop, but I also despise being lectured by lost people about how I should be offended by someone.

You are probably one of those megachurch "Southern Baptist" with a hipster preacher whose whole sermon is 45 minutes of pop songs and 10 minutes of discussing one bible verse
