Trump was brutally honest with the American people today about his tariff policies.

If you noticed Trump didn't blame one nation this afternoon for the situation the US has gotten itself in to with regards to completely one sided trade agreements that favor US foreign competitors.
Trump pointed his finger to White House and Capitol building and said, there are the people who have allowed the US Corporatocracy to offshore US economic sovereignty to our global competitors.......Trump is trying his damndest to fix a mess 35 years in the making and he's got a tough row to hoe.
Good luck Mr President, most Americans are with you.

Most Americans are economically illiterate and truly believe we can just keep spending without any consequences indefinitely

They did two things in the 90s
- killed American inner cities and rural America by offshoring manufacturing jobs to foreign countries to ship goods back to the U.S. to sale and made those people dependent on government welfare to survive.
- told everyone they needed a college degree and that there was no future in blue collar work.
- started the trickle of illegals to take jobs and put manual workers on welfare to make them dependent on government

I think this was the best tactic and actually true. Was our own people that flushed us down the toilet. You can’t blame other countries for taking advantage. Certainly not the average Joe of these other countries.

If that was true, Harris would be president. You underestimate "most Americans ". IMHO

Been saying this^^^^ since the 90's and particularly after China was granted WTO membership under Slick Willie.
Lou Dobbs (RIP) was all over the US Corporatocracy selling the American people out way back in the 90's, he reminded us all daily of the BS our federal government and Big Corporations did to the American people until the day he passed, just a couple years ago......Lou knew.

So when trump was touting the stock market in the run up to 2019, was he a globalist corporate stooge?… or just a another grifter politician?

Unfortunately, these tariffs do little, if anything to address out of control spending. I very much hope I am wrong, but this could be the biggest mistake of his two presidential terms.

There is a huge difference between voting against Harris who was a very flawed candidate and supporting any real spending cuts

I think more people are beginning to understand the devastating repercussions of US trade policies over the past 30-40 years.

I am not referring to tariffs. I am referring to the reaction to spending cuts and government layoffs. I feel sorry for most people who have lost their jobs unfortunately it had to happen and I fear most Americans don’t understand that

I do as well but we've been borrowing and creating worthless jobs for so long that some need to go.
