With regular time the sun will be coming up at 4:00 am in the middle of summer. and with DST year round it would be dark until 8 AM from late DEC thru FEB. Standard time is superior.
You can fish in the summer when the days are longer.
DST has mind fricked a shite ton of Americans, I think they truly believe DST is saving an hour of daylight. Leave it on standard time and leave it alone.

I’m frickin for it! I hate this time of year. I leave for work, it’s dark outside. I get home from work, it’s dark outside. Gives me the SAD.

I thought daylight savings time meant more daylight later in the evening? Why are we wanting to eliminate that?

like daylight savings time. It gives me extra time to fish in the evening after work.
Bro, that just means it gets darker sooner during summer. The early summer flathead catfish bite when it's transitioning from daytime to nighttime, will come earlier and give me an extra hour of dark on the river bank.
We fishermen don't make excuses. If they're biting at sunrise, be there before sunrise. If they're biting in the dark, be there before dark. If the bite turns on during inclement weather, watch the barometric pressure and plan accordingly. Time of day doesn't matter. Only catching fish.
I mean, pretty much from March through June every year when the spawning and migration/transitional patterns are happening across the board of all the different species I fish for, I just pretty much keep my whole schedule as open as possible. I'll take my vacations when it's hotter than hell, to travel somewhere cooler and fish, or when it's balls cold and I'd have to knock a hole in the ice to get a line wet.

Don’t see the problem here. At least you have an hour of daylight in the evening after work to do stuff outside and an extra hour for kids to play outdoors after school.
The problem is some of us get up at 6am to go to work and we don't like getting up and commuting in the dark.

Its quite simple, people who prefer permanent DST are the backbone of America, and people who prefer standard time are the leeches and parasites who just want it to get dark earlier so they can feel less guilty about being drunk at 5 pm
bullshite. The people who get up early in the morning are the ones who make this country go not you people who stay in bed sleeping. And us morning people want daylight when we have to get up and go to work.

Because some of us have to get up early for work and we would rather have daylight in the morning than in the evening.

This is what we need. When we set our clocks ahead on March 9, 2025 leave them there for good. I hate it getting dark at 5:00 in the winter and I don't mind going to work as the sun rises.
People in Michigan don't want a 9 am sunrise all winter just because your lazy arse doesn't want to turn on your patio lights an hour earlier in the summer.
Also, frick it being daylight at 9 pm in the summer. Nobody needs that shite.

Good thing they don't live in Iceland or Alaska.

Do your headlights not work?

Trump is wrong
It is Standard time that should be eliminated
We should stay on DST year round

We should stay on DST year round

IN!! How bout we just compromise and spring forward 30 minutes and leave it there? Everyone wins.
I'm fine either way. I just want it to end. It takes me two months to adjust each time.

Of course they work but you don't see as well in the dark even with headlights as you do with morning light. But that's just half of it the other half is I don't like having to wake up and get out of bed when it's still dark outside. It's much easier to wake up when it's daylight outside.
Why should us morning people have to wake up and drive in the dark just because you want it getting dark at 9pm instead of 8pm?

There are 3 pages of reasons and they only one you can come up with is you’re too scared to drive in the dark.

The reasons were that you are scared of it getting dark early.

I remember an elderly relative use to complain that losing an hour a day wore him out.
