I think previous poster was spot on in that he's a pragmatist. An extreme one at that. And I don't think that's a bad thing. It's probably why I identify with him to the extent I do. Samesies on the pragmatism. Which would help explain the difficulty in pigeonholing him neatly into any specific traditional category.
If there's one problem he has I believe it's going too hard with vocalizing his plans and goals and wishes, before he's gotten into the guts of the matter to see what's possible and what's literally impossible. On the other hand, the willingness to even put those things out there is perhaps respectable as well.
End of the day, all you can ask of a person is to shoot for the stars, and follow up with a genuine effort to fulfill the goals in an earnest way. And that's my perception of him. I believe peoples' default approach is to be skeptical of him, which then typically leads to over adjustment of expectations. Fact is, he didn't need this job and I'm sure many people advised him against it and copious reasons why, but he thought it important enough to pursue. People just try and try hard not to see that.

He means Bezos, Dorsey, et al.

Oh boy more taxes
We need some principled conservative voices in government.

The death of the middle class started with Rockefeller in 1973.

The top money makers during this pandemic aren’t voting for him anyway. It’s all Silicon Valley. Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, and Twitter must be stopped or they will just buy the world. They are all globalists that want even more power. Trump must humble them.

I’m hoping he means by breaking up big tech and cutting off the Chinese billionaire endowment fund.

Tariffs, immigration, tie monetary policy to physical PMs, and elimination of payroll taxes will lower rate of income gap expansion.
Do the opposite of what we have been doing since 1971 from a fiscal, monetary and economic policy standpoint that has made the income gap expansion rate increase over the last 30-40 years.
Tariffs makes it unattractive for manufacturers to do business overseas if they want to continue to sell goods in the U.S. Plus tariffs are the most fair tax. Tariffs are essentially a consumption tax that everyone pays and is much better than income taxes.
Eliminate the payroll taxes and supplant the revenue loss with proposed tariffs.
Lower labor supply by tightening immigration.
Tie our money to physical to force congress to stop central banks to purchase bonds at a rate above our production levels.
All these policy actions are the opposite of what we have been implementing since 1971 to increase the rate of an increasing income gap.
Now the progressive solution will be to throw a bone to the poor and middle class by demanding a $15 dollar minimum wage and other social services. The billionaires will agree because those are the same policies that got us to this point and the income gap will continue to grow at a larger rate.

Just like Mueller et al had Trump dead to rights? Now you can read his mind and know what Trump really believes?

Trump expanded the middle class then the only thing that could stop him and that expansion happened. And the inertia caused a suicidal economic shutdown that even the optimistic experts say our country will be years overcoming.
The fallout may actually be far more worse to our way of life and freedoms in that we stand poised to elect a senile Joe Biden who will be the first truly token president in that he is incapable of holding office. And the heir to the throne will be a radical socialist with an agenda that the middle class strength of our nation can't live with nor thrive under. It's hard not to be pessimistic.

Not defend Bezos but what can be done with amazon? I live in an upper middle class suburb of Houston and amazon vans run through here constantly before and during the lockdown
Demand for what they do Is an all time high, they are building another distribution center here that will be 1,000+ well paying jobs in fort bend county

Technology is owned and run by fewer and fewer people, contributing to the disparity. It is a natural phenomenon of advancing technology. I don't believe in limiting how much someone can make, but this phenomenon has to be addressed somehow. It is allowing fewer people to hold all of the newly created wealth. Not sure what the answer is, but I have a couple of ideas about how to address it.

You can't focus on one company to solve this problem. It's a bigger problem.
With that said if Amazon gets too big and eliminates competition through monopolistic anti competitive behaviors we already have antitrust laws in place to address that.
But addressing the income gap rate is a much bigger issue.

I'd feel like a damn jerk hoarding all that money if I were Bezos.
I wanna know everyone else is having a good time too. Share the wealth B. You could buy me a lake house, ski and center console fishing boats and a chunky party barge with the money you make in a day damn it!

This really doesn't surprise me. It's why it cracks me up when people say that Trump is practically to the right of Hitler.
He is by far the least conservative Republican to be nominated or elected president in my adult life time.
Liberals just look like morons when they portray him as such. It pretty much tells you that they are just a bunch of Pavlov's dogs reacting to what they are told

The progressive "tax the rich" and "minimum wage" arguments are exactly the bone billionaires are willing to throw to Democrat politicians so they can say they are doing something. The billionaires are like, "oh, please don't throw me in that brier patch."
Tariffs
Immigration
Tie money to physical
Eliminate payroll taxes
Anyone of those issues and billionaires go nuts.
