Why wasn't this meeting done before the shutdown? Why not have the plan in place beforehand so that you can start making these cuts as soon as the clock struck 12:00? And why announce your plan to the dems beforehand, and give them a chance to change their votes?
The entire shutdown gambit was win-win for Trump and team 47. It made little difference what the dims did.
Either you make them bite the bullet and vote with the Republicans, or get them on record in front of God and everybody openly demonstrating that they're willing to die on the hill of wanting one and a half trillion dollars to give to illegals and fund their deviant tranny Frankenstein operations.
Vought has been on deck with these recissions for months. They led the Democrats down this path, now they Will take the opportunity to let the clutch out and shred thousands of these worthless positions.

The problem is framing this as some sort of budget/spending issue, when it's a near nothingburger in the big picture. It gives a false sense of progress that doesn't really exist.
Hey legal genius, it’s not solely about the financial impact. It’s also about draining the bureaucracy aka the swamp. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

A judge will have zero problems finding the difference.
Again, he makes his job harder than it has to be. I want him to succeed at cutting this stuff, and statements like that don't help him succeed.

What is wrong with you? A judge? What Judge? Who GAF? What are they going to do to him at this stage? Take away his birthday? <------FAILED!

Because this is all political puffery to use leverage to get DEMs to agree to the GOP/Trump Admin's CR (not budget) and the admin is not really trying to fire all of those federal employees.
I don’t particularly like to agree with you but I completely agree with you.
If he really wanted this done, it would be a quiet and unpublicized meeting with an announcement as soon as the terminations are sealed.

Just because Trump is publicizing the meeting on TS, that doesn't mean the details aren't already in place.
Some folks fail to recognize that the man has a specific way he likes to do things. He's following his normal order of operations to the letter.

Yes he does

Simple question: does using that language make it easier or harder to cut the waste he wants to cut?
Can you point to the part of the law that says Trump has the authority to make these cuts but only if he uses words that don't make people like you fret over nothing? Either Trump has authority to make these cuts or he doesn't. A word used on X doesn't change that.
The only way your argument would make sense is if the democrats decided to not fight the cuts because Trump used "useless" instead of "democrat" in a social media post. No serious person can take that stance.
You just need something to whine about.

Trump is smarter than all of us - he doesn’t make “Unforced errors” he knows exactly what he is doing - and his results speak for themselves

This is a political/legal issue, not strictly a legal issue. Politics are always a factor at this level.

Their actual salaries are only part of their costs. It's the damage they do while there that is the real cost. Bureaucracy only grows.

Words are words ~ actions are actions. DJT is about to lower the guillotine, thanks to Democrat politics.

Just like the day he came down the Trump Tower escalator in June of 2015, 99% of the so-called principled conservatives' argument can be distilled down to one common thread:
Donald Trump Says Mean Things™
Donald Trump Says Mean Things™

The problem is, this hurts him.
Case in point: repealing the ACA.
If Trump wasn't a dick just to be a dick, the ACA gets repealed during his first admin. "Saying mean things" hurt his (alleged) policies and all of us.

This, while his VP is saying that they will not target agencies or projects on a political basis.

The entire department of ed is a good start
Hopefully so, but with how this administration has been wielding the power of the DoE all over the country I wouldn't count on it. It is beginning to look like they don't really want to get rid of the DoE, because that would mean they couldn't use its power themselves. Even then, Congress still has to get off its arse and actually kill the department with legislation.
