Seems smart if they actually do it.. He's personally mandated it, the WH has laid the framework, and now congress will do anything except codify it into law so they can call big bad orange a liar. The Grid act will just be another thing the leeches campaign on for 20 years and argue over for show.

The funny part about data centers is they have kind of taken a back seat to flock which makes me question if data centers being put in first was a first stage of rolling out mass surveillance via flock, since flock depends on the cloud and data centers to function.

Data Center jobs are temporary construction jobs. These giant facilities are manned by a very tiny number of workers and some janitors.

FWIW, All construction jobs are temporary.
As for what jobs go with a data center... Energy and water required don't come out of thin air. Pumps wear out, transformers etc. Yeah, it's not a 1965 Ford plant with 10,000 workers clocking in, but it and it's supporting vendors and suppliers ain't nothing either.

I don't think data centers were planning on building their own electricity...they have already gotten billions in tax abatements...and are working with local electric companies...bills are already going up when the data center isn't even finished being built yet. Will they need to go back to the drawing board to figure in this aspect?
