- Lowers interest rates on USDA and VA home loans
- Cuts closing costs on refinancing by making the title insurance waiver permanent
- Launches a task force to make factory-built homes cheaper
The fake news won’t want to talk about this one. They’ll brush it under the rug and pretend 47 doesn’t care about housing costs. HE DOES

Refuses to sign bi-partison, codifying housing legislation in July.
Issues easily reversible housing executive order 2 months later & 3 weeks before mid terms.
"This President Cares!"

So signed something that did nothing to help existing homeowners unless the home is basically almost paid off

Probably because phags like you will pretend that the legislation would have done the exact thing he's doing now when in reality it would not have.

Right.
Now explain what the order will do that the legislation wouldn't without using Grok.

Step1: Post a comparison that has no direct equivalency to each instance
Step2: Demand detractors give you the points to which you can argue against

Once again ,very littles details in another Executive Order.
Cuts closing costs - what specifically is being cut and how much?

I always thought it automatically drops off at 78% of the balance.
On the title insurance end, I personally would keep it. Knew a lady that actually bought a house with a cloud on title that was not uncovered when she first bought, then she refinanced and it did not show up.....and lo and behold the previous owner's "disowned " son pops up and causes problems....turned out he had a case. Title insurance came in handy.

That alone is not very different from how regulations around PMI are structured now. You can get rid of PMI under the current rules at slightly over 20%.
However, the key factor in this part of the executive order is the idea that equity based on the executive order will be measured on current market value of the house versus original market value at purchase.
That’s the biggest part of this deal, in addition to the fact that it sounds like executive order will make it easier for the homeowner to go through the process of eliminating PMI.
It’s a pilot program, and we don’t know all the details yet. But on the surface, just this part of the executive order is a positive, I think.
EDIT: this ASSumes mkt value of the property increases.

It’s amazing he is doing all these things right before the mid-terms. Must be just a coincidence.

Very Gross
The easiest path to lowering costs to own a home is to let home prices crater.
ETA: and stop the tariffs/trade wars so we can import more cheap building materials used to build and maintain homes. That will help with lowering the cost to build homes and for things like insurance so insurance prices go down
