The fighting in Lebanon has been a sticking point in talks aimed at finding a lasting deal to end the U.S.’s war with Iran. Along with the unfreezing of Iranian assets held abroad and a demand that it would maintain effective control over the Strait of Hormuz, Iran also wants a durable ceasefire in Lebanon as part of any final agreement.
In a follow-up social-media post, Trump said that talks were continuing “at a rapid pace” with Iranian leaders. Earlier on Monday, he pushed back at critics pressing him to move more quickly toward a deal or take a harder line.
“Just sit back and relax, it will all work out well in the end,” he posted.

There’s no way Trump is this naive. Every day that these “negotiations” go on, the more foolish he looks, imo. I certainly hope he proves me wrong.
