President Trump has signed an executive order rescinding Lyndon Johnson's EO 11246, which established affirmative action, and banning all federal contractors and publicly-funded universities from practicing race-based discrimination, including DEI.

As a young E-5 I sat on a panel listening to the chief of staff of the Air Force talk. A minority Captain asked him what the Air Force was doing to ensure minorities were promoted to higher ranks. I was giddy knowing this O-10 was about to blow him up with the reality of merit based promotion etc. It didn’t happen though, he went on about how they are working to promote minorities etc. I was too much of a pussy to ask why promotion wasn’t based solely on the members record with no external factors. That moment still stands out to me though and is something I will always remember

I'm still trying to figure out why this did not also apply to sports entities. Oh yeah, sports are based on athletic ability unlike other businesses which aren't based on a person's ability.

Not only did LBJ order the hit on Kennedy, he was also a massive racist and just pure gangster who was likely never elected to any public office without massive cheating involved. He was also an awful president. Likely the worst of the 20th Century, along with Wilson.
