Foreign spies?
What you can't get legal redress against though is your political opponents using the contents of what was leaked through someone else's efforts. That's why you protect your shite as best as you can. The DNC didn't and they paid the price for that.

You mean break the law by hacking into both parties, then strategically release one sides data, tipping off a member of the Trump campaign through the grapevine in the process?

If these anonymous sources had 1/1000 of the proof the hackers did I would be all for prosecution of Trump and all those involved.

Such a shame the WaPo still adheres to standards like not wanting to totally compromise American intelligence agents and National security by fully disclosing the details of all involved and the classified information leaked that is being speculated to put at risk intelligence agents and trust amongst close allies. Must drive Karl Rove mad.
What would be nice is if we had, IDK, a non-partisan special prosecutor or an FBI director that could be trusted to not be carrying water for the Trump administration, to look into this manner in a more careful, less harmful way then just hacking and dumping.
