So, this is when being simple causes you to not understand how things work.

1) This is a SHOW trial. It has no LEGAL backing. If this was an actual legal trial, then each witness would be allowed to be cross-examined by the defense's lawyers. Do you see any defense team hired by Trump to defend himself against these claims? Has the committee allowed for cross examination by the defense?
2) This "committee" is made up of DEMOCRAT ONLY selected members. The Republicans were not allowed to select who would be on the committee which is precedent/tradition. The House Minority Leader, Kevin McCarthy lambasted the democrats for doing so. It was all over the news, but not on the leftist news, so you don't know about it.
3) Given the 2 points above, why would ANYONE, much less Trump, testify in front of a feckless committee? To placate simple minded leftists? Do you think Trump cares if you think he looks guilty because he isn't being sworn in for a SHOW TRIAL? So why this may give you and your fellow lefties a reason to tell each other "weLl iF TrUMPhhf iSNt TestIFy'in uNDeR OaTH, theN HE iS GuILTy oF WhaT WE saY He iS", in reality only a moron would present himself in front of a 1 sided committee where the only legal backing against him would be perjury. Move past the January 6th committee hearings that are accusing him of some rather significant allegations? Yeah I’m sure he’d love to move past it all, but unfortunately the situation actually does call for a defense to those allegations when and where necessary. This goes a little beyond “mistreatment”. There are some potentially serious things on the line here.

Hutchinson does not claim to have been present for the alleged attack on the agent or the attempt to wrest control of the vehicle.

She claims only that Anthony Ornato told her about StrangleGate.

How would the SS know whether Ornato conveyed this information to Hutchinson? Wouldn't Ornato be the appropriate witness?

(Hutchinson would be "lying" only if Ornato did not convey this information. Whether Trump did or did not act like a crazy maniac is irrelevant to the question of whether her recitation of Ornato's alleged statement was accurate.)
