I wonder why people try to separate Jesus from the God of the Old Testament. I mean, according to most Christians, Jesus is a part of the Holy Trinity. Meaning he is one and the same with the very God who wrote about the conduct of behavior during times of war extensively during the Old Testament times.
So to say that Jesus would just flatly oppose war - period - seems to be wrong on its face according to their own beliefs.

Trump should name Mel Gibson as White House Chaplain.

Exactly.
So to say that because Jesus preached love and therefore would never condone violence simply isn't true. The Bible is literally covered front to back with with scripture proving this false.
Being a peaceable person doesn't mean you are to cower to wicked men. Righteous anger and even vengeance are justified in the eyes of God.

In before someone tells you the Romans actually did it.
Yea, God’s chosen people sold him out. Well, Judas for 30 shekels. The Jews screamed “crucify him” to Pontius Pilate. They chose Barabbas over Christ.
Might want to brush up on the Passion.

Christ died on the cross for our sins. Even the one you are going to commit next Tuesday at 4:32 in the afternoon.

He had a temper because a certain tribe was buying sacrifices for sale at the temple (so they're not really sacrifices).

On Good Friday, the Son of God was nailed to the cross, crucified, and he died. For all of us, it was a day of darkness, but it wasn't the end. By any means, it was not the end. On Easter Sunday, the stone was rolled away and the grave was empty.
Matthew 12:40 ("For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of a huge fish, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights" - NIV)
If he were killed Friday and raised Sunday morning where's the 3rd night?

With Roman help. The Romans were the only people in the empire allowed to enact that type of punishment

Now if we can all just manage to get the who you trust in for your salvation part right. Religion, me or Jesus? All can’t be your savior, and it’s not a cocktail.

This is so beautiful
Trump is a deeply flawed man (who isn’t) but deep down he truly seems like he has a heart for God

I’m not mistaken. Jesus was a Jew and was killed by Romans.
