It's a valid concern. Just look at the numerous train calamities in recent years, both in North America and overseas.

Of course I don't believe a catastrophe, heaven forbid it happens, is intentional, but the result would be the same.

Things currently moved by truck/rail in the US...LNG, CNG, ammonia, chlorine, propylene, LPG, sulfuric acid and many more.

The potential for havoc during transport of hazardous materials is overwhelming. Derailments could result in incidents like Union Carbide's Bhopal tragedy becoming downright routine. Frankly, I give a d*^m, and I'm scared.

Would be awesome. Maybe they are planning to blow them up in every major democratic city in the US before the election. I could get behind government sponsored bomb trains. Ka-boom mother frickers.

About 20 years ago we started shipping LNG in tanker ships. The NYT said that a ship in the harbor loaded with LNG would be a terrorist target. They would simply light a match and the ship would blow up and destroy most of New York.

I remember, they were actually going to build the
terminal miles offshore to receive.

Before fracking took off in the states, 90% of the natural gas the US imported came from the (at the time) largest LNG plant in the world here in Trinidad, just loading up tankers and shipping to the states. The LNG process lowers the gas to 1/200 of natural volume, and put on a supertanker.....that would make 9/11 look like a firecracker by comparison. We actually have an FBI office here in Trinidad to prevent just what you are talking about Zach.

Exactly what method of transporting natural gas doesn't hold the risk of accidents causing explosion? Why is this worse in your view?

The risk is overstated by the left. The benefits far outweigh even the exaggerated risk.

Sounds like a bad idea to me. Pipelines are infinitely safer.

It’s a moving vehicle, they crash. Pipelines are safer - in the ground buried.
