So what do you guys think about this?

quote:

President Donald Trump wants to allow natural gas to be shipped in railroad cars, a move that would open new markets hungry for the fuel but could risk catastrophic accidents if one were to derail.

Trump on Wednesday ordered the Transportation Department to write a new rule permitting super-chilled natural gas to be shipped in tank cars. The order follows a multiyear lobbying campaign by railroads and natural gas advocates, who argue it is needed to serve customers in the U.S. Northeast, where there aren’t enough pipelines, while also making it possible to use the gas to power ships and trains.

“There are all sorts of new opportunities where you can use rail much more efficiently,” said Charlie Riedl, head of the Center for Liquefied Natural Gas trade group.

The effort, which could help offset falling rail shipments of coal, mirrors how the oil industry turned to trains to ship crude when there weren’t enough pipelines to meet demand. But a series of spills and other accidents -- including a runaway oil train that derailed and killed more than 40 people in a small Quebec town in 2013 -- have safety advocates warning against putting gas on the rails.

A drunk moron stuck his dick in an electrical socket and electrocuted himself in 1979.

Due to that we should not allow electrical sockets.

Safer than shipping chlorine and ammonia already being shipped by rail.

If only there was another, safer way...

Say, in long stretches of metal cylinders.

I was a conductor for 42 years. You wouldn't believe some of the dangerous shite we hauled. Nobody complained about those highly explosive tank cars. I'm good with it. If there are thousands of semis running up and down our highways daily to provide us gas for our cars then I see nothing wrong with this.

That’s a great idea, but maybe we could like, ughh, consider pipelines?

And how long would that take to put together a pipeline network to make it feasible you reckon?

These same people freaked when we wanted to install the Keystone pipeline. Their solution? Trains.

He is proposing this because NY refused the latest pipeline project.

Put the gas on a train from Texas, put the illegals on it and ship it to the sanctuary cities in NY. They need gas and those illegals love riding on the top of trains...its a win win.

Probably about the same time it’s takes the union repair men to fix one rotten cross piece.

I kid but seriously, it will take a while for main infrastructure to be put in place. In the mean time, load up those train cars and Choo Choo then to every town that needs cheap, reliable, clean energy

On wheels pulled by people driving on an interstate highway at high rates of speed surrounded by morons driving just as fast weaving in and out of traffic.
