Keep China out. Roll back environmental regulations to get rid of these turbo 4 cylinders that explode at 60k. Let them get back to building cars and SUVs that don’t all look the same with a minivan unibody. Get rid of cheap aluminum, plastic body panels and cheap foreign parts.

Stop the electronic surveillance .

Give me a new straight side GMC truck with real buttons, a normal shifter and normally aspirated V8 that gets 10 mpg and doesn’t turn off at every red light if I want it .

Make American cars and trucks great again.

Thank you.

Also we know that the effort to make cars as light as possible creates a reliability issue.

Make climate control with three frikin knobs.

1. Air temp
2. Air speed
3. What hole will it blow out of.

I was going to start a thread on something I saw yesterday on the news. There is apparently bipartisan support to do just what you want -- keep Chinese cars out. Does the board support that?

You can disable this for good with a laptop and an OBDII connector.

cheap foreign parts.

Yeah, I'd much prefer expensive parts made by a meth head in Ohio over a cheap South Korean part.

One last thing.

The argument for this is the following.

Aoc said we would all drown by now.

That was a bet she made with time and lost.

It’s only right to tell her that since we didn’t drown, time to make cars great again.

It takes me a few minutes to figure out which button or joystick shifts out of park. Who asked every car manufacturer to reinvent a gearshift?

I'm torn on this one. I'm partial to the big three because of where I live, but if China is putting out great inexpensive EVs that are better than anything we have here, doesn't the American consumer deserve to have that choice?

What turbo 4s explode at 60k miles?

Also - we must solve the underlying issue which is the American car industry is so broken that it has to do everything it can to limit competition and the record high prices of new cars is significantly hurting American consumers.

No. China is a communist country with a history of human rights violations and they build with slave labor. Our industry can’t compete with that.

If they made a good product on a level playing field sure. But they don’t.

And you probably dont try to figure it out until you are already on the freeway, driving 75 mph.

You're almost certainly typing on a keyboard made in China. Why would you use something so evil?

Buy a new one running 0w 20 (or less) and watch the turbo glow so hot it burns a quart between changes. These engines have a place but it’s not in a 7,500 pound SUV.

Some of us just want a truck that acts like a reliable tool. Simple, tough, elegant.

Read the article by the CEO of Ford who toured a Chinese auto factory.

Want to know how many employees there are on the factory floor in a Chinese EV plant?

Zero.

China is beating us in EVs for two reasons:

1 -- they adopted complete automation faster than we did. We are at least a generation behind

2 -- they don't have the legacy health care and retirement costs of millions of retired union employees

Let the Big 3 go bankrupt.

They will be replaced by a new generation of entrepreneurial companies who will bring us the products we want at a lower price. It's the only way.

Yes! Just give us a choice again if that’s what we want. The environmental regs have taken that ability away .
