So we just accept now that a president can declare and start a war. No congressional approval? Such a change in how you all felt when Dems were presidents.

You realize the last time there was a formal declaration of war by Congress was WW2, right
And before that the Gulf War.
quote:
The last formal declaration of war by the U.S. Congress was in June 1942 against Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania during World War II. While the most famous declarations occurred on December 8, 1941, against Japan and on December 11, 1941, against Germany and Italy, the final three of the eleven total official declarations were signed by President Roosevelt on June 5, 1942.

Yay! We currently sit at ~256 for Donald 2.0.
A third of our government has effectively abdicated its role, giving its power to the Executive. We essentially live in a revolving soft dictatorship (have for a while now) where no president will ever again leave a true legacy.
Want to know why judicial activism has turned into such a problem? Because the Legislative branch of our government has effectively neutered itself. We're witnessing the resultant power struggle between the two remaining branches. The implications of that struggle are like nothing our country has faced before.
Gotta love it!

The Defense Production Act is literal socialism.
Yeah, let's let Ford push out cars instead of tanks. That would have definitely ended WW2 sooner.
You are a great example of riding your principles to your own doom. Sometimes, you just need to have common sense and do what is necessary. You people would literally have this country be weak while telling everyone how principled you are.
How would your principles help us if the gas crisis happened today? At least you could feel smug while walking your fatass to McDonald's. Some people have no sense whatsoever. Sometimes, to make the country prosper, we need to work together. A million chiefs doesn't work in the real world.

The Defense Production Act is literal socialism. The government tells manufacturers what they should make instead of consumers.
The Democrats should be happy then, but they won’t be since it’s Donald Trump.

Wrong question the real question is did it bother them when Obama was droning US citizens.
