Which makes you wonder. Who exactly is responsible for that, our government's lax enforcement of the law or the immigrants being at fault for not returning?
I looked this "temporary" thingy up yesterday just to get the facts. It was started in 1990 during daddy Bush's term. However, the program has only been instituted three times - all Democratic presidents. Twice under Clinton and once under Obama.
I'm shocked.

No, it's like inviting someone to come stay at your house for a few nights because they got kicked out of theirs. Then twenty years later saying ok, your free ride is over.

Exactly. If you were granted temporary status and didnt care enough to try to become a citizen of the USA then YOU WERE TEMPORARY BY YOUR OWN CHOICE AND STAYED TOO LONG ALREADY.
