Really?

Seriously? If this is what you and your leftist buddies have to bitch about, them you have nothing to bitch about.

One thing to note from this is that the fact that the economy was doing so well prior to this that we can expect a rapid recovery. Most economists point to a "V" shaped recovery meaning a quick bounce back.

In the end this likely will mean our health industry will benefit from "lessons learned" so that future responses will be more efficient and effective. The CDC was ill prepared for this as was our medical system, but this has been an unprecedented event and people need to see it as such and realize we are in unique times.

I believe that in the darkest of times our finest hours are revealed and this case will be no different.

Exactly. All the finger pointing and arm chair quarterbacking isn't doing anything productive.

As I've stated time after time you're a POS liberal snowflake and don't have to worry about getting sick since you live in your mommy's basement.

Why don't you democrats want to help your fellow American citizens? Is it because you will do anything to keep from giving Trump any credit..

The HHS already informed Trump that the U.S. was poorly prepared and organized for a pandemic event, in August 2019.
I'll stop short of calling you a straight-up liar until you post a link.

In fact, in contrast to your claim, Trump was advised that the US was the best prepared country in the world to deal with a pandemic LINK !

That was part of the basis of his full faith and trust of CDC claims that it had this situation in hand.

Again, the HHS already knew we were poorly stocked with this stuff
No dough head.
HHS knew no such thing.

Why?
BECAUSE THE VIRUS DID NOT EVEN EXIST as a human pathogen prior to November

So while Trump shutting down travel from China, Europe, and elsewhere was a good thing and actually a logical thing, it hasn't really done much to stem the bad tide, has it??
Of course it has. Fauci says it may have saved our butts.

OP is another CNN bot that won't acknowledge networks like CNN and organizations like WHO telling everyone in January this wasn't a big deal and that China created it.

Fast forward just a few weeks later, ALL of the entities above have done an about-face, changed the narrative, and are now blaming the American President for the entire situation.

Americans on the Left are gleefully falling in line.

As recently as within the last 10 days, Biden was saying hed lift all travel bans and the House Dems were trying to pass legislation to prohibit Trump from doing it.
I certainly recall that. Do you have a link to the stories?

Jan. 22: “We have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China. We have it under control. It’s going to be just fine.” — Trump in a CNBC interview.

Feb. 10: “Now, the virus that we’re talking about having to do — you know, a lot of people think that goes away in April with the heat — as the heat comes in. Typically, that will go away in April. We’re in great shape though. We have 12 cases — 11 cases, and many of them are in good shape now.” — Trump at the White House.

Feb. 23: “We have it very much under control in this country.” — Trump in speaking to reporters.

Feb. 24: “The Coronavirus is very much under control in the USA. We are in contact with everyone and all relevant countries. CDC & World Health have been working hard and very smart. Stock Market starting to look very good to me!” — Trump in a tweet.

Feb. 26: “So we’re at the low level. As they get better, we take them off the list, so that we’re going to be pretty soon at only five people. And we could be at just one or two people over the next short period of time. So we’ve had very good luck.” — Trump at a White House briefing

Feb. 26: “And again, when you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that’s a pretty good job we’ve done.” — Trump at a press conference.

Feb. 26: “I think every aspect of our society should be prepared. I don’t think it’s going to come to that, especially with the fact that we’re going down, not up. We’re going very substantially down, not up.” — Trump at a press conference, when asked if “U.S. schools should be preparing for a coronavirus spreading.”

March 4: “[W]e have a very small number of people in this country [infected]. We have a big country. The biggest impact we had was when we took the 40-plus people [from a cruise ship]. … We brought them back. We immediately quarantined them. But you add that to the numbers. But if you don’t add that to the numbers, we’re talking about very small numbers in the United States.” — Trump at a White House meeting with airline CEOs.

March 7: “No, I’m not concerned at all. No, we’ve done a great job with it.” — Trump, when asked by reporters if he was concerned about the arrival of the coronavirus in the Washington, D.C., area.

March 10: “And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.” — Trump after meeting with Republican senators.

A day later, on March 11, the WHO declared the global outbreak a pandemic.

Do you not realize Trump was being positive because he attempting to reassure the country so that panic wouldn't set in?

They don't care.

The economy crashing is what they wanted. Now they are getting it.

Thus the reason so many lefties like Lakeboy, Juicy, etc, come here daily to gloat about the losses in the market.

You can blame that on ....wait for it.... everybody that BLOCKED Trump's attempts to bring manufacturing home and to curb immigration and testing on entry.

If he had declared it a pandemic before the WHO did, the media would have crucified him for that.

The fact is, most everyone was calling it a pandemic or potential pandemic long before the WHO declared it a pandemic. The media was using the p-word long before March 11th.

We ALL knew, even before it hit the official threshold. This is just nonsense.

This. The financial ruin, the debt, the unemployment, the loss of freedom, the societal damage done by the "cure" is so much worse than just letting it burn through unabidated would have been.

A few hundred thousand very elderly and/or very sick people would have died. People that are very likely to die in the next 5-10 years regardless.

Over the long run we are going to be paying hundreds of millions of dollars per each of those lives saved.

Where did you get your estimates? My son, an emergency room doctor, was told by his hospital administrators 9 days ago that the estimate for USA would be 150 to 170 million cases in such a scenario. Even at the low end, with a a mortality rate of 2% that would mean about 3 million deaths.

A study just released on March 20 by Columbia University estimated that adopting no controls would result in at least a 75% infection rate. With a population of 327 million that would mean 4.9 million deaths, not to mention the very long lasting loss of lung function for even a greater number of people in the USA.

Here is the link to that study: LINK

Even if you are a young person, are you really willing to say "I stood for that" after you experience the likely deaths among those you know?

Has he been actually diagnosed? Didn’t he release his health record in December? Didn’t say anything of the sort as far as I know.

There is no successful venture ever undertaken that could not be second-guessed after the fact -

Even in mathematics, the only system that is free from localized negative aspects is a purely expositional function.

Nothing man-made or executed is perfect. But rooting out negativity (after the fact) in an otherwise competently executed plan is the primary avocation of the media and the modern DEM political hierarchy. When they are not in control, it is all they concentrate on.

This mentality sickens me. How could Americans feel this way about any of their population, especially the very people who made sure that the country continued to be the envy of the world?
Tell you what....go tell your mother, father, grandmother or grandfather, ANYBODY who nurtured and raised you, or your parents, sorry, but we're gonna have to stop trying to protect you from life's emergencies and crisis. GOOD LUCK!

See what? A couple cherry picked out of context sound bites? Is that really the bar? If so, can we apply the same practice to Trump? Or anybody?
