Trump is truly a political genius

Either that or he's the luckiest politician to ever live. Before this investigation into Trump's dealings with Ukraine began, Joe Biden was the DNC frontrunner and a serious threat to upset Trump in the general election. Six months later, the landscape has changed dramatically. The Bidens have become part of the Ukraine story and legitimate questions about their dealings with Ukraine and Burisma are now being raised by the mainstream media.
All the while, Sanders has been surging in the polls and could take Iowa tonight as a result. Democrats are panicking over these recent developments and Trump is stoking the fires on social media, accusing the Democrats of attempting to steal the election from Bernie once again.
Pelosi knew impeachment wouldn't work but attempted to ram in through in an act of desperation to unite the party behind Orange Man Bad. Trump has masterfully turned it back around on her and the DNC is once again threatening to dissolve into chaos and civil war just as Trump is about to be found not guilty of wrong doing in the Senate.
Everyone in this game is playing checkers while Trump continues to play 4-D chess.

For a non-politician, he's a brilliant politician.
Those who call him stupid for twitter "mistakes" (not sure it was, but who knows) don't fully appreciate what he's been doing from a strategic standpoint.

IMO its partly that he is being compared to the democrats. He may not be a "genius" but when you compare him to Biden, Warren, etc.. he looks like a genius.

I think Biden was in the process of fricking things up and the Hunter stuff became a convenient reason to toss him.
If Biden weren’t fricking up repeatedly while campaigning, there wouldn’t be blood in the water to go at him over this.

The Democrats went after a losing issue but kept pushing it because they needed to look strong to their base. Meanwhile Biden's brain has been melting slowly while the establishment keeps pushing him out there

He ran against and beat one of the most politically savvy, deep pocketed political machine this nation has ever seen. Yes, his current competition helps him, but he wasn't always playing against the short-bus crowd.
I'm not completely in the "everything he does is 4-D chess" camp, but I've moved closer to that than the "he's a bumbling idiot who lucked into the WH". If you look at his life accomplishments, nobody is that lucky. Nobody. He's obviously intelligent and has a tireless work ethic.

He wants the nominee to be Bernie because he knows he can beat him as the DNC will not fully support Bernie. That or he wants Bernie to run as an independent and split the votes.

No he wasn't.
Biden is a nut. He's never been a serious candidate.
