Once the lower gas prices hit and start to significantly stay down when it comes to commercial fuel surcharges, we'll see the economy being effected positively. It's the slowest movement.

Imo I'm glad the bleeding has stopped. We are in a slow scabbing period.

We wanted things changed, and now when it's being done people are whining about it effecting them. I don't agree with all moves. Wish certain ones were actually being done, but it currently better than it was. Sometimes it takes taking a few steps back to take strides forward.

The value of the dollar (DXY) is down more than 9% year-to-date. When you recognize that everything we own is effectively worth 9% less than it was in January, it puts into perspective just how strained this economy truly is. It’s a reminder that the headline numbers don’t always capture the real erosion people are feeling day to day.

Not to mention, all of the corp investment in this country my right now is going into AI which is massively going to erode the earning potential of 10’s of millions of Americans long term.

I would say start buying Secret.

Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.

But, they are just as expensive as Dove for the spray cans. Must be high costs of metal for the can and the cost of the propellant in the can. At a time they used CFC’s similar to Freon that was causing a hole in the Ozone Layer. Maybe they had another expensive propellant change.

I don’t like the stick deodorant, I find that it gives me a rash under my arms. When I was young and poorer, I would use Suave spray deodorant since it was cheaper. I remember when it was maybe 2 dollars a can or less. Now it is 5 dollars and little too feminine.

Sounds like you are quite familiar with transportation issues, very small percentage of people have a clue about fuel surcharges on freight shipments. You hear about tariffs on countries and large parts of the country bitch but the say or don’t know how transport incurs cost that are equally expensive.

Some things get cheaper in a weak economy

Fuel is one of them

In Davos, Trump requested the Saudis to increase production, which they did and continue to do. That is a hard downward force on international oil prices and also a devastating downward force on US production. The result will be lower gas prices and America being dependent on foreign oil. It will take years to get US oil production moving in the positive direction it was moving before Trump's request to the Saudis.

Haven't you wondered why Trump and his family are getting such valuable gifts and financing from Middle Eastern oil folks? Because he is attacking their competition, US producers.

Trump's request to the Saudis is a very bad thing for American energy production.

I agree with this. However, such things take time, and the game afoot is not one of fact, but rather perception.

In that regard, what Trump is not doing, is putting on a master class of messaging.

Jay Clayton's take is one which should have been hammered out repeatedly, in February and March as Trump was putting into place his new economic agenda.

Obviously, the Democrat partisan press massively, understated the damages Potatobrain & Co did to the economy. Without a thorough understanding of that, public sentiment was bound to turn against Trump and his administration on the economy until the delayed effects of policy began to unwind those damages.

It is apparent that Susan Wiles is locked in on that mistake, and is now encouraging a refocus on messaging.

Are you still shilling for Gaetz?

At least you are consistent in your continued support for the cover up the sexual abuse of minors in the Epstein world.

But things like outsourcing and tech jobs being given wholly to India are a huge problem that nobody wants to address.

Because reshoring those jobs would drive prices up....which would look a lot like inflation....which Trump cannot allow.

There is a reason those jobs went offshore to begin with. American labor for the skillset got overinflated. Companies were willing to trade a little quality to keep their prices competitive. When one company offshores...all the others have to follow suit to compete.

I remember in the 1980s, there were commercials telling Americans to "look for the Made in the USA" label". That may have backfired, because Americans bought overpriced crap produced by inflated union labor when their neighbor who bought imported goods was getting much better quality and value. It turned a lot of people off to American made goods (it's why we have so many Toyota loyalists, for example).

Until American companies are allowed to pay market value for skillsets and American workers are willing to work for market value, those jobs are going to continue to go overseas to keep the cost of goods and services competitive. Americans aren't willing to pay the cost of things made with and services provided by American labor.
