USDA Inspection: To sell beef commercially across state lines, the animal must be processed in a facility approved by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

State Inspection: Some states allow meat to be sold locally if processed in a state-inspected facility.

The Monopoly Problem: A small group of large corporations controls the vast majority of U.S. meat processing plants, making it hard for independent farmers to find local booking slots for processing.

This is good. The Argentine beef thing helps the "now", this helps our own cattlemen for the future.

This is one of the biggest successes Trump has had this term that is way overlooked and not appreciated. I think it’s like for every new regulation over 170 regulations have been cut.

We are on it Mr. President!

Our great AMERICAN ranchers produce the highest-quality, most incredible beef in the world AND it is a matter of national security that we be able to feed and fuel ourselves.

Big announcements starting Monday — including:

?? waiving red tape in processing
?? expanding ranchers ability to sell across state lines
?? rescinding outdated guidance
?? adding technology for faster safety data
?? growing real support for small processors (funding and deregulation)
?? fighting consolidation so small processors can compete
??expanding truth in labeling

The world is hungry for American beef!

MUCH MORE TO COME!

This is all because of Glenn Beck. He personally got Trump to do this.

If the cattlemen will calculate an affordable rate for their products that allows to make a living but not put their customers in the poor house. If they just mimic or charge same pricing as the 4 big processors; no difference will be seen. We have a few locals processing their own beef, but the prices are just as high or higher! We still try to by from locals for certain cuts, but not all.

Too few packers are creating a monopoly, which Trump wants to break. If the Argentine beef is already butchered and packed, it'll undercut the packer cartel and force them to lower price. I have no problem with that, plenty of food products are imported to the US.

Pass the PRIME Act, make it law, and remove this issue from the whims of the Executive Branch and lobbyists.

Why not just pass Maddie’s Prime Act? You know, the legislation he’s presented for years that does exactly this…….

Why don’t you ask Congress that?

In reality, the effects of that will last about a month with average American consumption.

If the President truly gave a shite, he’d champion the bill that is before Congress and push his majority to pass it. That way, when they get crushed in the midterms, the next Joe Biden can’t simply auto pen away the changes. Guess it’s too much to ask the President to be presidential?

Republicans in Congress don't give a shite about Trump or the American people. The EOs are a result of that
