Lol… The agency I work for is expected to bring its total for the state from 127 to 385 by 2028. That’s more then we had before Elon’s stunt!

What bad is it if our deficits are surpassing $2T?

Since you completely discount the power and influence of voting, I guess you'd be o.k. with taking the vote away from women again.
Voting for or against someone doesn't mean the voters controls anything.
Politicians lie to voters constantly to get elected.
Considering men make up most of the government and always have, disenfranchising women wouldn't suddenly make our male leaders act differently.

When you throw in the fact Trump 2.0 has shut down illegal immigration to a drip and reduced the number of federal employees by +400k......that's what every MAGA/America First patriot voted for.
No, no, Trump isn’t doing congress job for them. making cuts in workforce and fraud throughout the system doesn’t count.
I could make a list of legislative items that a majority of Americans agree on, like congressional term limits, a balanced budget amendment, ending birthright citizenship, election integrity/security, etc. and it doesn't matter what the people want, the DC Uniparty Congress will do what is beneficial to preserve and enhance the corrupt political system in DC.

It doesn't mean that the voters don't control who actually is elected to the office? Wouldn't have figured you for an election denier. Do you think anybody will ultimately go to prison over the 2020 election?

Sure they do. Always have. Voters have the power to stop that any time they want. All we have to do is vote them out in the primaries.

I didn't say it would. I asked whether you'd be o.k. taking the vote away from them again to test whether you really think that voting doesn't matter or not.
If you really think it doesn't matter, then you shouldn't care if the ladies' vote goes bye-bye.
You know this, of course. It's why you answered something other than the question I asked you.

What has this really done?
Satisfied people because it comes off as punitive to a group of people that’s primarily democrat?
Meanwhile, the MIC is getting even more glazed than past administrations and I don’t even need to mention the debt. So, what has this accomplished?

When I said voters didn't vote for reducing the federal workforce, you took that to mean voters didn't elect the President? Or are you saying that when voters elected the candidate who campaigned on no more wars in the Middle East, they actually voted for a war in Iran?

I didn't say voting doesn't matter. You put those words in my mouth.

That's not what you said. You said that voters—and I quote—"had nothing to do with it."
Which, obviously, they did, since they elected the people who did decide to do it.

Nope. I'm saying that they used poor judgement electing a guy who was obviously only telling them what they wanted to hear (and I told them that at the time), that his actions during his first term should have made that obvious, and shame on them for being dumb enough to buy it.
I'm also saying that we have a representative form of government. I'm not aware of any country in which the citizens vote individually on every issue brought before their governing bodies, so acting like that is some significant aspect of reducing the federal workforce with respect to voters and politicians is asinine.

Then tell me how it does matter, and also how much it maters. Does it matter a lot, or just a little?

The fact that they can't connect the dots between reduced govt employment > reduced govt expense > wait then why is the debt still going up tells me all I needed to know about this place. I mean I knew it already but to see it so clearly is pretty jarring.

Voters had nothing to do with the decision to fire any employees.
quote:I don't think casting a vote for a presidential candidate equates to personal involvement in the hiring or firing practices of federal employees.
Which, obviously, they did, since they elected the people who did decide to do it.
Voting for a candidate does not mean the voter personally endorsed, anticipated, or “voted for” every subsequent action that candidate takes after election.
