Wow. I sort of wondered if goldennugget is an outlier with bad luck. It's sad if there are thousands of young males in that situation.

The MD's in specialties from foreign countries in my lifetime have far exceeded western medicine. Chinese medicine and therapy saved my life when western medicine just wanted to throw a lifetime of opioid's at me.
One of my children when they were little-was saved from an incorrect western medicine diagnosis. Where they wanted to do immediate surgery of the pit gland and remove his face from some inept idiot reading an MRI wrong. The specialty Indian doc's, SECOND OPINION was he did not need the surgery and was fine. He was at a Univ. Hospital. That child is now a healthy doctor.

Pardeep from Surat is willing to work for 30% less than Mike from Toledo because getting away from shithole India is nearly priceless. They could pay him less, but then the scam would really come under scrutiny.
Even if Trump's premise is correct, he could roll out a plan to wean us off H-1Bs if he is truly the leader of this America First movement. Identify the industries where you believe we lack talent, and spend the next 5 years training and developing American talent.

Its not just sad, its outright dangerous. If you think this has no consequences then you are just delusional.
Every boomer who laughs at this and thinks this just disappears and their 401k and property values go up is just delusional.
We're on the cusp of a major revolution and boomers are still calling youths "entitled and lazy" as they greedily exploit the desperation of foreign labor like slave masters.

Any field that needs higher education is subject to dei so expect that to keep getting worse
We’re going to lose to china regardless why can’t we be like Japan and acknowledge our irrelevance and tell the world we’re full?

I don’t understand people who say this. India’s educational system is horrendous compared to the US.
These companies aren’t hiring foreign workers because they’re more talented. They’re hiring them because they’re cheaper. That’s it.

You can throw out anecdotes all you want, but saying that the MD’s American universities produce when it comes to Americans are worse as a result is illogical.
For one, those same universities discriminate from some of their top applicants because they are white men.

Definitely not an outlier. Anyone who works in the tech or tech adjacent space knows what an issue this is.
I cant stand these idiots who think every single American college grad is a lazy entitled leftist who majored in gender studies. The US cranks out thousands of hard working smart capable STEM grads every year. I know because I interview them when I hire for roles.
The other part of the equation that I am glad people are pointing out is that these idiots also automatically assume these Indians who are supposedly super qualified received high quality STEM education in India. Wrong. These indians have fake resumes, fake credentials, and any education or training they do get is solely designed to be the bare minimum to fool an interviewer. They get jobs via proxy interviews and nepotistic hiring managers. The actual talented Indians come to the US to get their education and don't need H1B body shops to get jobs in the US.

That's a quite interesting take...Our education system is not great but people from all over the world are trying to attend our schools. We have some of the best students and STEM programs in the world. It is all about cost. We want to reduce cost by hiring foreign labor at lower wages and maximize profit.

And Asian. Plenty of Asian undergrads that are US citizens turned down from US medical schools in favor of foreigners and lower performing blacks and women applicants.
Then the women drop out of practicing and then the foreign hordes are imported.
We create every one of our own problems and the answer from both sides seems to be destroy cultures for cheap labor (like slavery).
