Maybe other US assets in the Middle East but when have Americans on US soil ever been at risk from Iran ?

So those American assets don’t matter because they aren’t on US soil? And who’s to say Americans on US soil aren’t at risk from Iranian funded terror groups? Would you have sung the same tune about Saudi Arabia prior to 911? You sir, have an extremely myopic view of the world.

Iranian backed proxies have killed hundreds of Americans. But I guess those dont count because they aren’t on US soil? fricking moron

Counter argument is we are in their “backyard.”

I see this argument all the time from Russia bros who defend their aggression against Ukraine as a natural response to supposed “NATO incursion.”

“But what if Russia put troops in Mexico!?”

How is that a counter argument? They are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans. It doesn’t matter where they are

There are some real legs to it. When you start pissing off your allies and start a war without consulting them you would be a complete buffoon to act shocked when they don't join you in the war. It is in fact a master class in stupidity.

True, It seems idiotic- but it’s by design, 4d chess if you will. He has wanted to get the US out of NATO since his first term and this will be the final excuse. Putin will rejoice!

If the Straight of Hormuz is predominantly international waters, how can Iran “open it” or “close it”?

Aren’t we saying to Iran “you can continue with your part of the war but please leave the his piece - one of your few bargaining chips - a chunk of the open seas - out of your war plans?”

Seems an odd ask

I am not a fan of this war. However, the US and their assets/interests have been under attack by Iranian funded proxies for years. If you don’t believe that you are a fricking idiot and it’s pointless to discuss further.

Nobody is disputing that, or the evil of the Iranian regime. The question is why did he choose to attack them now? The inevitable bad outcome has been known for decades- the closing of the Strait, the attacks on neighboring counties, anything he does militarily is an escalation with worsening results than the situation that existed before he started bombing.

Interesting list. Factor in the nudge of diplomacy with the need to give Wall St hope of a deal. It does reveal non compliance. It also starts a conversation about leaving NATO.

Or, hear me out, we don't attack Iran at the behest of Israel owning our morally corrupt politicians and Iran could still be working on the nukes that they were 2 weeks away from finishing in 1995, and we would still be filling up at 2.20 a gallon right now and talking about the economic come back we were on.

But, instead we have politicians that rape and eat kids and that are also bought and paid for through AIPAC that will put us in such a financial burden with this Iran conflict that we won't have the means to fight back against a tyrannical government.

That is where I am completely baffled. The mid-terms were likely going to be bad anyway, but now? It will be a complete wipeout. This likely will lead to another round of impeachment attempts. It was a stupid time to do this. One day after the mid-terms if Israel must have us do it.

Lmfao and what explicit reason would we be nuking Iran for you fricking psychopath ?
Are you a functional retard, or do you need a lot of help? Where did I imply that we should nuke Iran? I simply pointed out, that Japan needed a second A-bomb to get them to surrender. Iran is probably going to need more, newly installed leadership taken out before they finally get it thru their head that there is no path to success. Couple that with a civilian uprising, and we'll probably end up seeing mullahs hiding in a hole a la Sadam Hussian.
