Does this guy even think before he speaks? Or his he purposefully lying?
His scare tactics are old in less than a week.

Now you baws be sure and bend over backwards to defend him and let the "melt" comments ensue.

quote:

President Donald Trump claims murder in Philadelphia has been “terribly increasing.”

He is terribly wrong.

“Here in Philadelphia, the murder rate has been steady ? I mean ? just terribly increasing,” Trump said in a rambling speech at the GOP retreat on Thursday.

In fact, Pennsylvania’s largest city has seen violent crime drop to “levels unseen in decades,” Philly.com reported earlier this month, citing Philadelphia police. Burglaries fell to a record low, and the total number of homicides decreased from 2015 levels, remaining below 300 in 2016.

“We’ve got a long way to go,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross told the publication. “Nobody is suggesting anything other than that.”

quote:

Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney blasted Trump’s remarks in a statement. “President Trump’s false statements today were an insult to the men and women of the Philadelphia police force—the very same men and women who are working long hours today to ensure his safety,” it read. S

Sen. Bob Casey (D-Pa.) also lashed out at Trump on Twitter, referring to the president’s comments as “alternative facts.” Follow Senator Bob Casey ? @SenBobCasey I will not stand by as @realdonaldtrump falsely maligns the city of Philadelphia. I will counter his #alternativefacts with the real ones. https://twitter.com/billy_penn/status/824706279826399233 …

Almost every single major city in this country HAS seen an increase in murder rates and police death rates over the past 2-3 years.

He was wrong in this case, but given the data on almost every other city, it's not an unreasonable assumption to make.

I listened to him. He didn't question that they had been steady, he stated it. Like 'Wow this high murder rate has been steady, the murders keep piling up.'

This is fake news

2014 - 246
2015 - 280
2016 - 277

Technically, it decreased 1% from 2015 to 2016, but went up 13% from 2014 to 2015. So, yeah he was wrong on the "increasing" in the truest sense, but hey 277 still died and 280 the year before. No small numbers.

What do you mean, 'wrong'?

He literally said it was steady. Did you listen to him? There was no inflection, it was a statement. Your bullshite thread title is false.

But, it's fine. Nobody cares, everyone knows the murder rate in cities is disgustingly high, which is the feeling Trump was conveying.

So what? So what?
quote:

“We’ve got a long way to go,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross told the publication.

So it's not on the increase, but there's a major fricking problem still that your side of the aisle has ignored for decades because they pander for and purchase votes through a failed system that enables sloth and acclimation to a subsistence level existence.

That isn't the whole quote. He began the thought by talking about how the murder rate in the top 30 cities has risen by 14%. It does sound bad, when you chop up the quote into nice little "gotcha" tidbits. The terribly increasing part was directed to his prior statement about the top 30 cities.

Too bad he did not say any of that.

The police chief even said "we have a long way to go". He admitted that. He simply called Trump out on his Bullshite lies
