More Ethanol Means Higher Prices, and not just for Gasoline

Tariffs, ethanol mandates---when will DJT let up on the American consumer?

This is one issue where I have been consistently frustrated with Trump on. I am heavily against ethanol as a fuel and ag subsidies as a rule.

It doesn’t want to make me want to vote for a limp wristed cuck never Trumper or a Communist for president, but it is frustrating.

No he isn’t. There are 100% gas gas stations around, easy enough to fill up there.

I am the same, this is my biggest gripe with him. Hopefully he will just rip the scab off in his 2nd term and but this gigantic BS debacle to an end.

Ethanol is going nowhere. This was a problem before Trump and will be long after him

Ethanol is cheaper on a strictly cost to consumer basis as the pump. Why are they implying it makes fuel cost more. E0 is usually at least $.20 more at the pump than e10. ( E0 has maybe 8% more energy)

Will I be forced to pay a fine if I buy non-ethanol fuel?

It drops your gas mileage so you have to buy more gas sooner and f's up small engines.

Stop lying. I haven’t put that garbage ethanol fuel in my vehicles and lawn equipment in years.

Stop lying.

You pay the subsidy on ethanol if you pay taxes whether you use the gas or not.

True, and I use them and pay more for pure gasoline.

Then I’m penalized at the grocery store because so many acres of food crops have been turned into fuel crop acres to take advantage of the subsidy. Beef prices are higher because of ethanol.

More than 10 years ago, I’d use ethanol gas, and if I filled up on 10% ethanol, I’d see a corresponding 10% drop in mpg. It added nothing. Then my small engine shop told me to never use ethanol in my lawn equipment, and at that point decided I was done with ethanol in all my engines.

If the gov’t wants to subsidize farmers, there are far less expensive ways to do it.

No but you'll pay about 20 cents more a gallon for it like I do.

Ethanol is not really a net gain in energy if all of the energy inputs to make it are accounted for.

Food in the gas tank was never a good idea nor a "green" one.

Trump needs Iowa. After 2020 this may change, but not before. You are cherry picking arguements where you know Trump is hemmed in. This is a weak effort by you. I will gladly spend my extra $3.50 per year for another 4 years of Trump.
