Subsidies for HFCS and Ethanol is nothing but welfare for farmers but at this point those state economies depend on it and it’s.

Forget that it is making Americans the most obese country in history and cars more expensive and less efficient

I know you will get down voted to oblivion but on this one, you’re unequivocally correct. Ethanol subsidies may be the single worst government policy we have. So, so frustrating.

Blame Bush II for this madness. He gleefully signed this into law due to hyped-up pressure from global warming alarmists using junk science that even Al Gore eventually came out against (Gore was for this legislation, it passed, then years later the science disproving it became so undeniable he retracted his support yet the legislation has remained).

This is no different than Social Security, Medicare or even Section 8 in that it's a drug that no one in DC wants to be responsible for weaning the users off of.

Is ethanol cheaper then 4.35 a gallon?

Yes, but to meet your vehicle's needs your fuel pumps will move more liquid.

I've switched to E85, and while its a decent bit cheaper than gasoline (be it 100% gas or the 'up to 10% ethanol' version) my MPG has dropped because I'm having to increase the flow by around 40% (according to my tuner).

So while it is cheaper with respect to price per gallon its about the same with respect to price per mile driven. The only difference is you'll be tanking up more often.

Though, I doubt anyone will notice much of a difference between a max 10% vs 15% ethanol rating. E85 was a big change, though.

I got an '03 Tundra. My service manager at Toyota told me years ago my engine is equipped to run with up to 12% ethanol but anything over that and I would have trouble. for the last seven years I've put nothing but corn free gas in my tank. It cost more but I drive very little in it nowadays except around town. Got my first oil change last month since Feb. of '17 and still had less than 5,000 miles on it since last change.
