I walked in the other day and they were closed for President's Day. So I decided to use the self-serve kiosk but it was out of order.

The USPS is almost completely worthless at this point. They have to subsidize everything and run at a constant loss just to even compete against FedEx/UPS.

MUSPSGA, my captain. Let's ride!

, if it wasn't for the fact that USPS is a complete shitshow already and beat you to your theory by about 30 years.

They have a 72% favorability rating

Despite financial struggles — and needed reforms to compete with shipping giants like Amazon, UPS, and FedEx — the U.S. postal service remains one of the most popular government agencies in a time of low confidence in the American government. According to a 2024 report from the Pew Research Center, the USPS holds a 72 percent favorability rating, ranking above NASA and second only to the National Parks Service.

If you think the mail sucks now just wait for Larry's Letter Service and Pawn Shop in your neck of the woods.

Or UPS, FEDEX, DHL, etc...

Oh no! How ever will i get mail as unreliable as USPS? Surely there is no possible other way to receive mail and packages. I wonder if there are any other private mail/parcel deliver services that could do the job better than the current inept and incompetent government employees?

I'll tell ya what jangalang, i'll take that gamble that the private market just might be better than the government. I know, crazy talk.

Who wants to bid on delivering your shite? UPS doesn't want to be out in the sticks.

A methhead in a Two Guys and a Truck will win the bid.

UPS is dealing with high overhead costs after just now taking on last mile deliveries. Could there be deliveries sure. Anybody can pay for high protection for expedient delivery just like at the post office (Express)

Just dont count on it making any logistical sense to be out there.

Hire some higher up from FedEx to come in and give him/her the keys to rework the whole thing.
