Trump Could Have Taken A Cue From Russia’s War Strategy

quote:

Putin rejected it - he knew the best negotiating position comes when you maintain the initiative. Putin’s doctrine is to maintain pressure on an adversary as long as it takes to get concessions

He’s been at war for five years. Doesn’t appear to be a successful strategy so far. No concessions.

Iran was not a threat to the United States

Iran has been a threat to the US and to the region for decades. Theyve killed countless Americans. Threatened all of our regional allies with terror. Supported Russia during its war in Ukraine. The list goes on. In January we had a legitimate shot at regime change without a massive ground invasion. I don’t know if the new regime would’ve been perfect but it almost certainly have been much more palatable than the current one.

We waited too long and probably lost our chance. I don’t know why he waited too long be honest. Maybe to get more assets in the region. Maybe because Israel wanted to wait so they could replenish their Iron Dome arsenal. I don’t know. But it was a mistake. Hopefully we can still salvage a victory. One where we control the strait and Iranian support of proxies ends.

Are they a threat to Americans in America or just our military that's constantly breaking shite in the middle east?

We started a war with no plan for the Strait. Epic failure.

Even if the strait gets back to normal all that does is reset the status quo before the war with nothing being accomplished.

I can listen to most criticism of the war and give some credence to it. This talking point, however, is fricking retarded.

Do you think starting the Iran war was a good decision?

You have to factor into a decision how the world will change if Iran gets nuclear weapons.

A fanatical, egotistical, martyrdom-inspired Islamist Nation sitting on the choke point of the world economy and with their thousand-year, nuclear armed blood enemy right next door and and a vow of “Death to America “ (think 9-11) …and you think Donald Trump as POTUS is going to let the Mullahs go nuclear on his watch?

As a professing Christian in need of Mercy at my Judgment, I desire to be a “peacemaker “ over a ‘warrior’, but I will not stand by for ‘brownie points’ in my next life and let others do the bloodletting that is required to even have the option of Christianity in our society and cultural buffet choices.

Admittedly, I am a ‘fatalist’ or rather an Eschatological Realist in that I believe that Humanity will not be able to solve our dilemma even with the help of AI. I think it’s all part of a greater ‘Creative Plan’ for Humanity to learn that it cannot survive minus God’s help, and that we must WILLFULLY ASK for such, as God would not and could not violate our sovereignty.

Trump had to do this, but it only postpones the inevitable ideological and religious conflict which will bring the Vision of Truth to all. Some to eternal life and others to the pit.

Lord come quickly.

Putin has troops taking and holding ground. And he's taking massive casualties and managing. Trump cannot and will not do either, so he's stuck with bombing and threats. If it weren't for his massive ego, he would have already walked away from this. He can't win.

The time to eradicate the regime was then. Now they have entrenched themselves and built popular support.

A leaked confidential report for the Iranian presidency Fox News and polling by the "Ara" research center IranWire reveal record public anger in Iran, with 53% calling for fundamental structural reforms and 19% seeking to overthrow the current political system. Only 9% supported the status quo.

This is from a poll taken BY THE REGIME. The truth must be far worse than the responses indicate because surely some of the anti-regime sentiment was suppressed out of fear.

Your objectives or Trumps objectives? What's the time period you believe each objective should have been accomplished?

Our intelligence reported that they weren't attempting to develop them

And I would imagine the world wouldn't change much if they did have nuclear weapons. Sorry you fell for the scare tactic.

Well that’s just not true. Of they were trying to develop them. They’d be stupid not to. It’s the ultimate trump card in the game of geopolitics.

Nah, the Saudis would’ve gotten one in response. And we wouldn’t be able to slap them around when they get out of line anymore.

Yes it is. Just like the report last year said there was no evidence they were trying to create a nuclear weapon. Nothing had changed since then.

Because it acts as a deterrence. If Iran had a nuke you think they're going to try to nuke us? If the answer is yes it's because you're delusional. If the answer is no then who cares if they have one for deterrence purposes?

The Saudis and the Iranians both having nukes might actually be a good thing. Other regional bad actors might be less prone to frickery with more nuclear powers in the region. I might remind you that we're the only ones that have ever used nukes. And we only used them because we were the only people on the chessboard that had them to use.
