That's an immigration issue, not a foreign policy issue.
But blowing shite up in the middle east does tend to create the influx of more refugees. So the opposite of what you want to happen will happen with more wars in the middle east.

Have you hatched up a plan to hate Vance/Rubio or Rubio/Vance in '28 yet?
No. I think Vance will make a fine president. It's no secret that he thought this war was a bad idea.

Yes it is. Just like the report last year said there was no evidence they were trying to create a nuclear weapon. Nothing had changed since then.

Because it acts as a deterrence. If Iran had a nuke you think they're going to try to nuke us? If the answer is yes it's because you're delusional. If the answer is no then who cares if they have one for deterrence purposes?
Which is it?

The Saudis and the Iranians both having nukes might actually be a good thing. Other regional bad actors might be less prone to frickery with more nuclear powers in the region. I might remind you that we're the only ones that have ever used nukes. And we only used them because we were the only people on the chessboard that had them to use.
I actually agree. Which is why I was against Operation Midnight Hammer but I’m for this war because there was a legitimate chance at regime change.

I was asking you which scenario you think it is?
Do you think Iran would try to nuke the United States?

There was never a chance of regime change with a bombing campaign.
It has never happened in the short history of aerial warfare. Well other than nuking Japan but that was on pace for regime change anyway. I don't think you're one of the crazies that wants to nuke Iran.

No.

There was a chance with mostly a bombing campaign along with limited ground troops. Mostly special forces guys backed up by a decent amount of conventional troops(nothing like Iraq) and I would’ve seized the strait with our navy and Marines at the onset of the war.

You wanted him to take a cue from a country that is losing a war to its little sister?

I do. I want regime change

For what? An Iranian civil war? How does that benefit the United States?

can you at least acknowledge that we have had individual battles in recent wars that lasted longer than the current conflict? Again, how long did you think it should take to achieve Trumps goals while maintaining close to the current casualty numbers?
Posted on 7/19/26 at 7:35 am to BCvol
So you're acknowledging it without actually saing it that zero objectives have been achieved.
At least we're getting somewhere.

Works every time-- but just briefly, until reality hits the fan. Trump screwed up royally, and he's too much a tiny man to admit it.

To be fair no president is going to admit they made a foreign policy mistake. Particularly not while the conflict is still going.
I think he regrets it but it's silly to expect him to actually say that.

First of all you are likely a girly man. But anyway, what do you want him to do, back the ships and planes out and apologize? Seems to me the only country getting wrecked is Iran. And they have their propaganda. But you know that already as a consumer.

Yeah...we can't just back out. We need some sort of exit plan, stupid idea or not.

They are like a nest of yellow jackets. Except they will never quit. So I guess as long as we have bombs, cruise missiles and missiles, we continue. Something will break over there sooner or later. And I know losses of life are tough, but our loses so far are less than those killed by their proxies in the Marine barracks, in Beirut back in the day.

Take control of the strait, do as much damage to IRGC and Quds force in particular as possible, sic the Saudis on the Houthis in Yemen and let Israel go after Hamas and Hezbollah. Ensure free passage through the strait for all ships except those coming from or headed to Iranian ports. We should maintain the right to inspect and turn away any of those ships until such a time that the Iranian regime becomes a sane and palatable government on the world stage.

Putin is getting assfricked in Ukraine. WTF are you talking about, like honestly?

I guess the question comes down to...what does this achieve for the American people and at what cost? This isn't about revenge for the Beirut attack. We already got our pound of flesh from them in the Iraq/Iran war.
