I'm okay with this. Lots of age limits should be raised.

18 year olds today are morons

If an 18 year old isn't an adult, then we shouldn't ask them to go to war for our country either. This is a bullshite pandering move. I've raised two well adjusted kids who have been shooting guns since they were 7 or 8 years old. Neither would consider shooting up a public place. Why should they be restricted because some 18 year olds are morons?

Be careful how you answer that...slippery slope and all.

This is a completely separate conversation, but if you can't be trusted to buy a beer at 18, you shouldn't be able to vote, enlist, or buy a gun either.

Then let's move voting up to 21 too.

Yep. Keep it consistent for weapons, voting, and drinking.

Meh. It's a pandering reaction in response to a specific occurrence. Based on the assumption that the age would be moved to 21...

Aurora shooter- 24 years old (he also had a handgun and shotgun)

Sandy Hook shooter- 20 years old but didn't purchase the weapon he used

Las Vegas shooter- 64 years old

Sutherland Springs shooter- 26 years old

So the AR15 is used as a boogeyman and yet this age restriction wouldn't have done shite in 3/4 instances.

The Charleston shooter and Virginia Tech shooters used hand guns. I don't support emotion based sweeping legislation based on limited occurrences.

For frick's sake, he's getting terrible advice on this..

I dunno - one of the things I could warm up to would be raising the age limit for a lot of adult oriented things that need licensing.

Since the schools are pumping out a never ending enema of whimpering pajama boys, perhaps we should set an age limit of 26 (like for staying on daddy's insurance) for important things like drivers license, firearms purchase, voting, spouting off on TV, etc.

Waivers would be granted for service men and veterans or others who pass some sort of 'I am qualified to be considered an adult" set of tests.

Agree that the drinking age should be lowered. It sure doesn't seem to slow down kids drinking, does it?

Prohibition of anything that people want simply doesn't work.

We have MSNBC in southern Missouri tonight doing an interview with a local superintendent.

A local youth baseball team is raising money by rafting off a AR-15. The Neosho High School logo is in the back ground of a AR-15.

Probably not a big deal if the high school logo was not in the background.

How would restricting people over a certain age from buying these rifles help?

It would allow more time for psychotic teens to be identified - assuming officials do their damn jobs.

I mean, if the age is raised to 21, then the Florida psycho has to try to make it two more years without being committed, or use less powerful weapon. That's just my guess.

I like it though - good politics and optics that most Americans would find an acceptable response to keep the poll momentum stalling out.

Couldn't disagree more. In the military you have leadership, structure, observation and investment in these kids lives that's lacking in society.
