WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House said on Tuesday setting an age limit for buying AR-15-type assault rifles, the type purchased legally by a teenager who shot dead 17 people at a Florida high school last week, was under consideration.

Can you please articulate he difference between an AR 15 and the any other rifles that are not currently under scrutiny?

How would restricting people over a certain age from buying these rifles help?

I mean backing up from the "assault rifle" quicksand for a bit I don't even know what "Trump considering" means here. This would require a law, and I doubt there's much appetite for this in the House.

I'm not too concerned. The bump stock thing probably will happen, but this won't.

Sounds like they are floating it out there to see the reaction.

He's done this before.

guess we're going to have to ban Mini-14's, semi-auto shotguns, and water balloon canons to legal age adults as well

while we're at it, let's mandate an age in the 20's to be the legal minimum age for adults. and deny anyone under that age the right to vote.

MAGA should probably reconsider this with the quickness.

It has always been my worry about him. He is easily influenced by the issue of the day and by whomever gets in his ear...at least on issues that he hasn't held long standing positions on.

I can tell you that wavering on the 2nd Amendment is a sure recipe for his defeat for reelection. Most pundits think that the economy sunk GHW Bush's reelection, but it was his weakness on guns.

Most excellent.

Trump actually has my support on this.

Perhaps actually visiting the victims of Parkland had an effect.

This may be a media winner. The shooter could not have bought the gun if a age restriction had been in place ergo no dead children.
Why o why didn't Obama propose this and save those kids lives?
Asu...a want... navy...hog...Rex why?
