I feel much more gouged by the insurance and healthcare industries.

That's been painfully apparent for some time now.

He's not a Nazi, he's not the devil, he's not trying to be king. But he's also not some transformative figure, sacrificing his well being as he fights for the little guy.

He's just another politician.

True but it has been slower than normal to drop. As much as people whine about prices, they don't necessarily stop going to their normal gas station even though the guy right across the street is 40 cents cheaper.

Pre Katrina, almost every gas station had the same price. Except for that clown on Claiborne across from Tulane who was always higher than anyone else.

Now you can see HUGE differences in price because people still go to the spot they like and are used to going to.

I used 40 cents because on the way home from work, that is the difference between 2 gas stations. Right across from each other but on two different sides of Jeff Hwy.

the collapse of BP’s stock value due to the Gulf disaster

I don't even know where to start with that royal clusterfrick.

The fraud was off the charts. I have buddies that got BP money for their crawfish ponds.

Had guns drawn on my boat by the coast guard in Vermillion Bay.

There were not letting anyone in the Gulf at that time.

I wish I could have bought a condo at Turquoise Place. They were giving those things away right after the spill, and now they are worth more than double.

The one by me was $2.98 yesterday and this morning but it inexplicably just went back up to $3.39 sometime today. It doesn’t make any sense, oil is dropping like a rock.

There is a local mom pop type gas station by my house and over the years I have became somewhat friends with the owner of the station just because I am in there almost every day. He said that the way he prices gas for his station is 3 months in advance. He prices now what he thinks the gas will cost 3 months down the road. He said that the quick trip and racetracks down the street price the exact same way.

I don't know much about it but I tend to believe that he knows that he's talking about considering the gas station has been there since the 90s

Risk drives it up.

Market competition drives it down.

Gas at the pump is always quick to rise to reflect the price increase but always slow to drop once prices at the rack come down. I used to wait for my competitors to dropped before I would. It’s not just big oil. It’s distributors and retailers too.
This is infuriating to me, oil goes up and prices go up "you are paying for the next delivery", Goes down and it is "well, the gas in the tanks was high"

As a trucking business owner, this is a huge problem. Do you raise prices, or do you wait it out, hard to raise prices when you are seeing oil drop. But until it reflects at the pump you just take an arse whipping.
