Ethanol is nothing but a subsidy for farmers.
When you buy gasoline the government is forcing some of your money to go to farmers. So they can have some of your money. Because lobbyists and the Iowa Caucus.

It's a fuel oxygenator which replaced banned MTBE when 7%.
Almost all of the ethanol plants are each 51% owned by local farmers regardless of what the name says on the sign as operator.

fricking stupid. Very smart on Iowa's part, to find a way to make sure they're more important than they should be. All primaries should happen in the same week, for both parties. Just like elections should be decided, I don't know, within 48 hours of polls closing.

I wish we would get rid of mandates for ethanol and subsidies.
I’m ok with it as an option. If it can be safely used in newer vehicles and ethanol blended fuels cheaper than non ethanol then wouldn’t the free market work at this point?

Ethanol in gasoline started as a green scam. There is really no green in since the energy inputs are damn near the same as the energy outputs.
