Ah! tradwife ... traditional wives.
Anything CNN hates, you should be on the lookout to support. This is a great example.
I see a growing segment of conservative couples wanting to demonstrate their values this way. Mothers that stay at home [at least for early development of children through grade school] can impart lasting values to their children. This, opposed to students at EDP [extended day program] at school or being entertained watching porn on a computer at 12 because no one is around. I've seen the later in my wife's family -- that 12 year old never made it past 32 because of those values brought on by absent parents.
It's fringe to the CNN writer... because all they see is what they want to see [barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen] but it's really more popular than Bud Light right now.

I’m actually stunned so many on the Pol board have no idea what the Tradwife movement is.
The problem with it is the number of women that only decided to be “trad” once they got too old for their Ho Phase and suddenly they’re looking for that special Simp… excuse me, Knight in Shining Armor… to rescue them.
Most of the REAL trad wives are devout church girls that married relatively early to a boy in their church, and both are still active.

Well that's an even sadder case than my mother's friend. What a huge waste of money on those degrees.
The women in my family all held careers, were treated as equals, and were still conservatives. Imagine that!

What's your point? Those were grandmothers and aunts. Most now dead. I still have one grandmother and a great aunt living. Both had careers and raised families. Reading comprehension and basic percentages aren't your strengths I guess.

Nice list. Totally different from my mom. I was often home sick. She did zero of those things. She spent 8 hours on the phone with other trad wives talking about how hard her life was while dad was working on the oil rigs.

What was once common place due to greater purchasing power among the middle class has now become a fetishized fantasy by a generation of lost youth nostalgic for a lifestyle that is both beyond their economic reach and which they likely never will be able to experience. The internet empowers every subculture to find each other and form communities amongst themselves. The stay at home spouse has become an economic vestigial organ of the American dream, which is an utter travesty.
I respect women who are honest about wanting and demanding this lifestyle. I hope they find fulfillment in it as well as find wonderfully loving and supportive partners in this endeavor. However, for many, I fear their idealism is just a trendy veneer likely to be shedded quickly after the realities of being a stay at home spouse and parent set in or after failing to find a man to start a family with that checks all of their ever-lengthening boxes of “must-haves” (6ft tall, 6 figures, 6 pack abs, super handy, can take to the opera, etc)
