Lol. No, man. Between gardening, prepping food, feeding animals, household chores and kids there is more than enough for a sahm to be occupied.

But we live out in the country and are attempting to be 100% self sufficient and teaching our kids to do so. So it’s a bit different than the shite you see on social media. Our family around here are all farmers and have always lived in the same way.

Both our parents always had land and big gardens and animals. When you give away your freedom for security and convenience you get neither. Ain’t no Mayberry around here.

I do take issue with a culture that tells women that staying at home isn't fulfilling/worthwhile "work" and that what a career offers is somehow "more than" that. It tends to, in my experience, lead to women being unfulfilled in both (career and family).
and also, I know some women who should’ve focused on their careers and not had children - they thought they could have it all but all of that just really isn’t working

I know quite a few families who don’t do birth control, have lots of kids, mom stays at home, have gardens, etc, and none of them post about it on social media.

Yeah maybe, although I think this is the minority.

I think there are some women who are capable of being really great in a profession, such that it seems like a "waste" not to pursue it. But I still think the huge majority of them will end up with severe regret over that choice.

It's a ticking time bomb for our culture I think, TBH. Both men and women, but women in particular.

the vast majority of the social media stuff is performative. it's a space for losers to assert moral superiority. they're not actually "traditional" or "conservative", they just picked it up as an excuse for their shortcomings.

the reason i'm single and have no friends is because i'm not like the other girls.

Sure it is, which is why people who are serious about reforming their lives to be more in line with the traditional way don’t pay any attention to those people.

But it does get people who live on social media talking and thinking about how their lives could be more fulfilling and may push them to seek out a better way of life.

This desire to granularly quantify everything in life (especially when the qualifier does it to things they don't like) is emblematic of a populace grown too fat and lazy. Not having a strong enough enemy to bond against, a large, non-homogeneous society will seek to create enemies within to bond and fight against.

Maybe we could fight her against Paige Spirinac, on PPV, with proceeds going to benefit the one who thought of it.

I want to see a society where if a woman wants to work she can, and if she wants to stay home she can, and either way, the family can be successful.

It's hard to be a tradwife with college debt unless you marry rich.

it pretty much all circles back to rising costs of housing, healthcare, and education IMO

This is all fine and good. If you want to be a "traditional wife" within a family leading a "traditional life", go for it. One BIG hurdle is going to need to be cleared first, though. People will need to stop being slaves to their things. That's going to involve some tough choices in order for people to truly embrace that life. You (most people/families) can't have all the possessions on a single-income budget. Keeping up with the Joneses will have to stop. The credit train will have to stop. Living beyond your means will have stop. And I mean truly stop, not just look that way on carefully-crafted social media posts.

That's the problem with "trends" that begin on social media. The end consumer only gets a manipulated picture. They only see what they are meant to see. Little of it is real, and judging yourself against it, or using it as a measuring stick or blueprint is risky business.

In short, this "tradwife" shite is going to be tough on many because it will run counter to every fiber of their being.

Leftists try to connect it with white supremacy... When it doubt, argue race. It is, along with sexual misconduct, an accusation that puts the burden of proof on the accused.

I Know several current stay at home moms / tradwife.

Either

1) They never went to college

2) They had high paying jobs after college, paid off student debt, got married, and their husbands make good money

3) They immediately married into money who handled their college debt and can handle the costs of life on one income / family money.

I saw a meme recently that was something like this

Lower class - wife doesn’t work
Middle class - wife works
Upper middle class - wife doesn’t work
Upper class - wife owns a business that loses 10k/month

There’s definitely some truth to it

My wife was a defacto Tradwife by mutual agreement 30+ years ago.

I think it gives kids a better sense of security and I loved the hell out of mine being a stay at home mom.

The person who made that meme is probably from BR or another medium size southern city
