I’m well aware. I’ve had an ATP license for 15 years and have experience in 91, 135 and 121 aviation. I was by no means a “PhD level” pilot when I got my ATP. It’s not that hard to get.

Of course, just goes to prove my point that having an ATP doesn’t make you a PhD of aviation.

I think it's all the more impressive she would attempt such a tricky maneuver just having got her license.

That was a great convo. Well done dude came in hot with his "I'm gonna get the politards" with my "expertise," and ended up walking off with his tail between his legs.

He probably tells his client the whole PhD bit to milk more money out of them as they don't know.

That’s what I’m hearing too. If she was on IOE, the CA should have taken that landing.

As with PhD's in other fields, those that can't do, teach.

She may be qualified to teach about flying but she's certainly not going to be flying any more planes.

At my airline, and I assume most others, getting a crosswind landing is a requirement to completing IOE. In fact it’s normally the thing that drags IOE on the longest because new FOs are still flying around hoping for the wind to be blowing across the runway fast enough to get the chance to do the landing.

Apparently this plane hit the runway on a descent rate of 1100 ft/min and on one set of landing gear, the starboard side.

Fighter jets land pretty hard on aircraft carriers between 600 and 800 ft/min descent rate on two sets of landing gear.

Regular passenger planes should be landing at 100-200 ft/min just before touchdown.

Here is a quick search to find a "Kendall" female pilot that flies CRJ200 for Endeavor air:

Instagram Link

ETA this isnt the pilot in the crash. The sibling of this person confirmed it on social media.

This is kind of like when the Feds "don't know" the political leanings of the men who tried to kill Trump.
