He and the Louisiana Republican Party are a corrupt clique . The fact that he got the Republican endorsement so early in the race is criminal imo.
And as for his approach to insurance reform, he’s a joke. As a Republican, he should be carrying the banner for tort reform including but not limited to caps on awards, limited plaintiff attorney advertising and all other methods of limiting the strength of the trial lawyers. But he isn’t. He says none of that stuff works but even if it doesn’t work, he should be fighting for it. He was on WWL radio the other day making the case for the trial lawyers!
And it reeks of corruption.

He’s trying to dismantle the DOTD and privatize it, problem is they tried that before with the Louisiana Timed Management Program and it failed miserably and cost the state millions. Too much corruption through it.

He got the endorsement because he made a deal with the trial lawyers on coastal lawsuit then got their backing in campaign funding. Starting out with a huge war chest matters a lot. He schmoozed Donnie Jr (who was getting taken by Gavin Newsom's ex) with alligator hunts and played him like a Coonass accordion.
I voted for Wags. I regret voting for Landry to get rid of Caldwell.

Why is the market so different from here to Mississippi and Alabama gulf coast and the insurance isn’t even close

Learned of a sad insurance statistic yesterday. Farm Bureau covers 7 southern states. Louisiana pays 19% of the premiums but is responsible for 51% of the payouts.
Sounds out of whack, doesn't it?

Bottom line: Jeff Landry is not actually conservative. I supported him for governor because I believe he was a good Attorney General and had high hopes for him as governor. I was wrong to have had faith in him.
