The truth is that it doesn’t truly matter which party is in control of the mayorship.

There's this guy name Giuliani who dropped the murder and crime rate in NYC rather quickly. I could feel the difference on the street after a few weeks.

It's not much of a point. If all big cities are run by Democrats then the ones with the most crime will be run by Democrats by default. And that would also mean that the safer cities are run by Democrats since almost all big cities are run by Democrats. So there isn't really a point at all

Burlington Vermont is controlled by Democrats. Wonder why it's not on the list?

It's obviously a creation of failed leadership at the state level in red states. Them cities is just struggling man. They elect visionary progressive Democrats who do their best but those racist Republicans at the top just want to feed them crumbs. I'm not being cute. I've really seen them use " red states" as a counter argument.

Yeah, the people that vote Cantrell blame Nola’s problems on republicans in Baton Rouge.

What makes it a given in your mind that a large city should have a greater “per capita” murder rate?

The only things being compared here are big cities

This list is BS. Birmingham would easily make the Top 15. Do better OP.

It's murder rate not violent crime dumbass.

That being said Bessemer Alabama has Birmingham beat these days.

Weird. I haven’t heard anyone blame anyone but Cantrell for our problems since Ida. Do you live in New Orleans? Where do you hear people blaming republicans in BR?

I agree with what you are saying.

But our black sisters and brothers have to want it more than you want it for them. And they have to want the truth as well. But we all see how that is going.

I understand that and that’s why I said locking up criminals makes black communities better.

My point was that the underlying issue isn’t criminals. Criminals are humans with free will. The underlying source of broken communities is broken families.

You were just a poster that came to mind that I've disagreed with on a few big subjects before, but I may have been mistaken on this particular issue and your stance. If that is the case, I do sincerely apologize.

You’re good bro. I get told to go back to DU everyday. I just roll with the punches. I agree with most mainline and even MAGA conservatives on 99% of issues. I’m just off the “Trump is the solution” train, that’s all.

And besides that, I’m an idiot. A lot of posters here understand far more than I do and I sometimes speak about things that I actually know nothing about and put my foot into my mouth. After all, most people use this board for entertainment more than news and I enjoy shooting the shite and arguing like old men with the guys here.
