Yesterday: 1,286
One week ago (5/10): 979

Newly reported cases
T: 21K
Y: 25K
5/10: 22K

Newly reported tests

Y: 357K
5/10: 274K

Positive test rate
T: 5%
Y: 7%
5/10: 8%

To go from 8% positive rate to 5% in only one week is remarkable imo.

Today was a record setting day of testing, too.

Bitch all you want about the slow start for testing, the rate at which America has ramped up testing is praise-worthy.

In a couple more weeks, there will be almost no flu deaths to pimp as Covid deaths.

If that’s all it takes, send everyone south of Kentucky for a couple of weeks.

Agree completely. When an objective history is written about this event there will be fair criticisms of things the president/CDC/etc have said and done poorly, but the major ramp up in testing will have to be a huge success story. It’s gone up a crazy amount in 3 weeks.

This will likely piss off the left who regardless of the facts will insist we all need to stay home still.

but who is getting tested?

are there really that many people who aren't feeling well need to see if they have Covid?

or are these test for people just curious if they had Covid and have the antibodies?

please advise?

I agree, a very good day, but you usually have to wait to see what Tuesday/Wednesday have for the weekend backlog.
